I often ask the same thing when it comes to rangers. How can a ranger not have resist spells if they have enough levels for the spell? 10 sp per shot as opposed to 15 from healer or caster.

I recently ran with a level 13ish Sorc who did not have resist energy learned on my cleric. When he asked if he could get a resist energy from me I just laughed and told him to ask the ranger or paladin in the group. If ur a sorc, wizard, paladin or ranger and level 8 or higher ur not getting any resists from my cleric...my spell points are to small to be wasting them on people like that...u will also not get heals from me if ur taking elemental damages that would normally not exceed ur self cast resists.

I don't care if Sorcs and FvS only have a limited amount of spell slots, the resist energy spell, or a nice amount of resist energy 20 potions or resist energy 7 and 11 wands or items are mandatory. I personally do not understand any caster that can have this spell not having it by mid levels permantly on thier hotbars, this most certainly includes paladins and rangers. I no longer give resists to a wiz, sorc, fvs or cleric, paladin, or ranger if they are sufficient level range , at the very least they can get thier own.

Maybe it's not that he didn't have it.. maybe he doesn't like buffing people He could have lied just to pike.. Everyone know how boring and hard it is to buff a party.

I don't know...maybe....but at the beginning of the quest he said he didn't carry any buffs at all, then proceeded to start asking others for thiers. When I asked why, he said u'll see, like he was this super effiecient damage casting machine.

I was far from impressed. Unless he wanted me to see how well a piker pikes.

And actually I retract my above statement for having enough ranger/pally levels to cast the spells. I only takes 1 level of ranger or pally to use a wand. You should be able to cast 11 min resist and 110 point protect at any time once you are level 11, and 7 min at level 7. Level 11 resist and protect wands drop all day long. But these jack a$$es just leave them in the chest even thou they could use them. Their reason: I don't want to waste the sapce in my backpack. B.S. so now I have to waste my mana because you want to carry something that you rerely use or ar too lazy to grind out some coin lord favor.

This goes double in last 2 parts of the Shroud. Way too much time is spent waiting for clerics and casters getting back mana from the pools after casting fire resist. Rangers & pallys should be doing this even if it's from a wand. They don't need to recharge at the pool afterwards either. They aren't going to be casting once the fight begins. Time in the pools would be way less if rangers and pally would get off their lazy a$$es and do their part. Clerics would then need to spend little if any time in teh pool.

I recently ran with a lvl 13 FvS who was an "evoker healer." Apparently, that is an excuse to not have Death Ward

Although it was kind of funny later on in the run when they died of negative levels...

How much pack space does one need? I can solo enough favor for the first rank before level 5 without WW or STK . Do WW and STK on Elite and your pretty much done. I carry a ton of pots, wands, clickies, weapon sets and seldom am I really strapped for space. Leave the wand take the cannoli...

To be fair tho, a lot of clerics need to toughen up...extensively.....I am getting so disgusted with the healbot, buffbot babysitting handholding mentality of a lot of them...they truely are a disgrace to the class and make it harder for the good ones.

Clerics are an extremly powerful class, if the people I am running with cannot compliment that instead of sponge off it all day long, I will have nothing to do with them.

Nannybots.....NO MAS...wake up and realize ur true potential and stop giving the rest of us a bad name.
