"Sorry Elminster, it was really dark, and I'd drank a LOT of coffee..."
Babe I'm Gonna Leave You...I know they didn't write it, but imo no one has done it better. Plus it's the first Zep song I learned to play all the way through on my accoustic. (after fiddling with the opening arpegios of Stairway to Heaven of course..lol)
Buff Rock, nerf Paper, Scissors is fine.
The fact that it's so hard to choose is indicative of how awesome they are. I will never forget the mass of people camped out overnight at the gorge in George, Wa... a random van blaring Zep on large speakers in the dark with everyone singing along, and people occasionally howling like wolves throughout the parking lot/camp ground. And if you know wolves, you could pick up on those who did also... those that were howling like males, and those who were female... and not by just natural genderal vocal predisposition. Was something I will not forget.
Yer talk about guitar reminded me of Bron-Yr-Aur - some of the best 2 minutes of driving you could want...

Good point, mood does have alot to do with it. The great thing about Zep is whatever mood you're in, they have a song/songs for it, and it feels they are the masters of it. From hard rocking, to brooding, to light and airy, they did it all, and sometimes within the space of one song. Pink Floyd may be considered The masters of "spacing out" music, but I think Dazed and Confused holds it's own against anything they have done. Dammit, you all are gonna make me break out my Zep cds..lol.
Buff Rock, nerf Paper, Scissors is fine.
If you're going to listen zep digitally anyway - go here - pretty sure this guy has em all saved, and they sound very good.
Heh I've got them all too, from the original cds, to the remasters, to a few boxed sets. What I REALLY miss is my cassette collection. I used to have a buddy many years ago that was very good at getting bootlegs. (I didn't ask how, I didn't want to know how..lol) I had a ton of concert footage on tape. Granted some of it was garbled and poor quality, but some of it was excellent, including the last performance before Bohnam died. They got lost sometime durring my divorce from my first wife![]()
Buff Rock, nerf Paper, Scissors is fine.
The Immigrant Song quite possibly because of this video.
There are just too many to choose, but Ramble On is probably my favorite or maybe The Ocean, it's a toss up really followed closely by,
Black Dog
Kashmir
Rock and Roll
Going To California
Living Loving Maid
D'Yer Mak'er, Misty Mountain Hop, Heartbreaker are all great, too.
Also love Good Times Bad Times, but I prefer the Godsmack cover.

Then darkness would eat me. Cold would devour me.
I would die naked beneath a blackthorn, keening for the missing moon.
lol Yeah it's way too good to not share. It's been around for many years, but who cares!![]()

I don't think I could pick one song. Booooo. I would have to pick When the Levee Breaks. Took me a while to decide, even thought about getting my cd's to help think about it.
