F2P Pally TWF stats question

hello all,

im new to DDO, but an old hardcore Baldur's Gate player

i have a few stats questions about TWF pally,

so i started with

14 STR
15 DEX
12 CON
8 INT
8 WIS
16 CHA

I think the stats are self explanatory, 15 dex for TWF and 16 cha for pally stuff.

So now im close to level 4, and i get a stat, where should i put it?

I need 17 base DEX for ITWF and 20 base CHA for Pally goodies at level 20.

I was thinking to put one level up stat at CHA and rest to STR.

So my question is, coz im new to this game, will i be able, as a F2P player, to save enough money to buy a +2 DEX and +3 CHA tome from auction house? To get 17 base DEX and 20 base CHA in time to get feats that i need on my level ups, such as ITWF and other pally stuff.

Your starting stats look good. Whether you want to put a level up points into dex...well that depends on whether you plan on buying a +2 dex tome from the store. If you buy the +2 dex tome that will free you up to putting your level up point elsewhere, namely strength. This is what a lot of people myself included would end up doing.

Alternatively if you don't want to have to buy a +2 dex tome you could go 1 point into dex and then get yourself a +1 tome. +1 tomes aren't too bad to find at higher levels, nor are they too expensive on the AH or through the store. Your other level ups at level 8 and 12 should be strength. At 16 and 20, you could either go 2 points to strength or 2 to charisma to qualify for divine might IV.

Not unless you have better luck than pretty much anyone else ever in DDO at pulling loot.
Most of the high ticket items drop from quests you won't have access to.
Haven't checked recently, but you're (probably) looking at several million gold for a +2 tome on the AH,
And I don't know how much for an unbound +3, I've never seen one on teh AH, but I think "out of your price range" would be safe to assume.
You might be able to pull this off by level 10-12 or so with decent drops. Think Xorian Cipher is F2P. So if you get lucky and pull a few planar girds you could probably afford it. Maybe multiple Maelstroms from Tempest Spine.
Other than that though there's not to much you'll be able to sell that players want.

Of course that all presumes you're not able/willing to buy tomes or different packs from the DDO store so..

as i see tomes +2 are from 1,5 to 2 or 3 milion, and +1 are from 150,000 to 300,000.

so, as i understand its hard to get 2 or 3 milion as a F2P.

then i will spend 1 stat point at dex, and 3 at cha, and get +1 tomes.

not the best solution but the best one until i decide to pay the subscription

Your best bet for +2s f2p is when you know youll need the tome bank up the 595 tp and pick one up out of the store. Id roll a few alts power through the korthos and harbor quests and rinse and repeat to get the tp. Its a pain but worth it if you decide you like the game and want to keep yout character going.
