My name is Sorentia d' Kil'ndar, Paladin in service to the Sovereign Host and 2nd in Command of the Nites of Darkness. For those that do not know us we are a small guild of friends that have met here in Stormreach and have formed together in a bond of friendship and shared aspirations. Our guilds goal is a simple one, give a home to those who seek to grow, become stronger, and enjoy our world of adventure and excitement in a relaxed and non-stressful enviroment. We don't zerg, but we don't flower sniff either. When things go pear shaped we blame the smurfs and laugh then move on while still holding people accountable for their own actions.
Recently our guild leader, Mlorb, has been pulled away to other realms and has been unable to continue with his mantle of leadership within the guild so it has fallen upon me to pick up and move on until he may return to us. In this I have recruited several promising members that have good humor and enjoy the world around them. However this has led me to some situations as of late that make me question myself as a leader and wonder what I should do.
The most notable incident was today. Four of us from the Nites of Darkness along with someone that knew one of our number, were heading into the Soami gardens to hunt down the evil inside the monastary. The person who had joined us four on our quest mentioned a certin individual in House Jorasco that could help with reincarnation to which one of our guild members, who had made some choices that he regreted, jumped on it and immediatly purchased the lesser heart of wood and sought to under go the reincarnation on the spot. He needed our assistance in the re-leveling however, particularly mine, and despite our insistance that he wait till later to do it he went ahead and started the process. For the last three hours now I have walked him through the process, in which he still managed to make errors, and patiently tried to help him make choices that would result in his strength growing rather than diminishing. Through all this the person who suggested it at first stayed with us trying to help until just a short bit ago when his guild called for him. Our two other guild members have been running around slaying, hoping the wait will be over soon, so we can continue with our questing.
Now I sit frustrated, wondering if I should have left him to his own devices as the intrim leader of the guild, and pressed on in our questing, or if I did the right thing as his friend and stuck around to help. It is times like this when effeciancy and time wasted conflict with friendship that I truely dispise being looked to as a leader.
