    Default Thank You Khyber

    Hello Khyber:
I am known (though probably not widely) as Seager.
I have just spent the last few months trying to get my Forum account back online, due to my former forum name having a ~ in it.

I normally don’t post on the forums at all but I actually had something to say today.
I was going through some of the historical threads (bored at work) and I came across the one that Gruntiz put up about me when I was in Walter Reed in Dec of 08. I started reading the posts for the first time and I never really knew how thoughtful the forum crawlers could be.
In all seriousness thou I would like to thank you all for your thoughts and prayers, where applicable. It was a very trying time and even though I might not have seen your words at the time (I was too drugged up anyway), deep down I knew that they were there and that’s what makes the sacrifice worth it. I will say though, when I asked Gruntiz to put that picture on the forums…I meant the GUILD Forums…not the whole DDO Forums! I try not to be a glory hound or anything like that, it’s not why I chose my profession and it’s not why I continue in it.

In closing I would like to give a small update on my condition to whom it may concern:
I am currently still fighting to stay in the military and am walking pretty well. I cannot run or jog and still have a good deal of pain that I deal with, but I continue to get better. Now after over a year of physical therapy I can now bend my leg far enough that I can ride in airplanes and any car which makes life a little more normal. And they aren’t going to take my leg, but some days I wish they would have, lol.

Also a very special thanks to all the members of the Hand of the Black Tower. Even before my injury they were more supportive to me then some of the friends I grew up with. The HotBT is a great guild and is more like a family to me then a guild. Thank you again and God Bless.

P.S. I also appreciate the tact shown by non-Bush supporters. I know a lot of people didn’t like him, but it was still a very HUGE honor for me…and let’s face it, I’m not cool enough to have something like that happen again

    The Seager has spoken!

I think Americans have learned a lot since the war in Vietnam. Even those who don't necessarily support the hostilities don't blame the soldiers for the political policies of our elected officials as much as they did forty years ago.

My respect for your service has nothing to do with my political views.

    Reup, you're crazy!

Glad you're trying to stay in. There are never enough dedicated soldiers in the military.

I had a buddy of mine in the top turret while deployed. The driver decided to whip the vehicle around at full speed when they were about half way past missing the turn (the Army didnt revoke her license, go figure). I understand it rolled three times. He got himself a nice titanium Ulna for his arm after they had to remove most of the bone. They wanted to take it, but he refused. When I left that station, he had regained the ability to move the arm more than 45*.

Whats funny is before he left during combat training, he was the TC for a different driver. In a dismount he placed himself (too close) to the front wheel for cover and the next thing he knew, the vehicle's tire was laying on that same arm. The driver claims she must have bumped the parking break on her way out.
The problem is never how to get new, innovative thoughts into your mind, but how to get old ones out. Every mind is a building filled with archaic furniture. Clean out a corner of your mind and creativity will instantly fill it.

So, you come on here on 4/1 (hmmmm) THANKING the forumites??

Is this some sort of sick twisted joke? You think its funny??

"HA HA!!!! LOOK, they think I'm serious!!!!"

AND, calling the Hand a family??? I don't think so. What kind of twisted, dysfunctional family do you come from? Really, so what, Grigs the alcoholic step-mother? Bet Ibi loves that. And Niko, the wierd uncle nobody ever talks about? We won't even put Jo in a category, we all know where she goes. Zanthos, the ****ed off at the world all the time teenager. Who else? Give me a good one for Brute, he posted in here already.

    TY Seagar :P

He's happily already back. Sadly, he came back about a half-step short of the way every soldier dreads coming home.

Seagar's an awesome guildy. He's usually there ready to lend a helping hand with us (as long as that you're extending in need has plenty of PP to cover his outrageous rental fee ).

Really though, he's been with us for years and hopefully will be for a long time to come. Just be carefull casting around him, unexpected cometfalls cause him to scream when he's not expecting the explosion.

And all you that think I'm a prick for laughing about his bad experience, you have two choices in life. Laugh about it or cry about it. I find laughing much easier on the blood pressure.

No I ment making it back as in staying in the service. Believe me I know all about IDF and fireworks and all that ****. I hit the dirt once on 4 july when I didnt know people were shooting bottle rockets.. It happens and its part of what we do. And where I come from you have to laugh about it. It means you truly love and respect your buddies.

I don't know you and have had no knowledge of your injury prior to your post, but I can never pass up an opportunity to thank a soldier or serviceperson for serving our country.

    THANK YOU.

Sending best wishes for your continued recovery.

As I've said on the guild forums so many times already, thank you for everything you do and have done. You have all my best wishes for the future.
