Visa Debit/Gift Card

If I were to run up to the store right now and buy a Visa gift card, would I be able to use that to buy points? I checked the Prepaid thread but it really did not answer that question well. I want to be able to pick up this package but am not sure that if I bought this card I would be able to use it on here.

From what I hear, yes. But I've also heard they'll put a $1 charge on it to make sure it's valid, so you need to get it for a little bit over the $50 or whatever you're buying. You'll get the $1 back later.
