Using PAX points to go Premium

I'm thinking of buying the PAX bundle, and purchasing everything so I can go from VIP to Premium. 100$ gives me 2 PAX bundles (6900 points for $49.99) = 13800 points

Allows me to buy:

dreaming dark 450

reaver's refuge 350
vale and subterranean 650
gianthold 950
desert 850
Necro 4 850
warforged 595
fvs (already bought)
monk 795
shared bank 1495
6 more character spots for a total of 10 595x6 = 3570

TOTAL: 12405 Points to unlock everything I want.
-3000 points I have accumulated from VIP
=9405

So for 100$, I get everything I want, and have 4,395 points left over for LR's and future mods. Since I am currently paying 15$ a month, going Premium will actually save me money after 7 months. What do you think? Is my logic correct here? Should I go Premium... I have to decide tonight while the PAX bundle is still active.

I don't know if my math is perfectly accurate.... but it is close enough to get the point. I need to make this decision by tonight to get the PAX deal (and my sub ends early april) - what do you think? Should I do this? Does it financially make sense?

From what I have read, Premium is the best way to go if you intend to play long term. The only downsides are you will have to buy any future, currently unreleased packs you want later (and there will be a few this year) and you cant do any quest you havent purchased and isn't free should you get the itch to do so.

As long as your never going to level another toon ever agaiin, you shoul dbe in good shape...

I couldnt imagine leveling a toon without STK, Delaras, CO6, Sharn, Tangleroot, and Necro 2

That's a good point...
Personally, I hope I never have to level a toon again... w/ F2P it drives me crazy.
Though, at the speed I level, I could just pay for a month of VIP, and could easily be ready for gianthold at the end of the month.

In terms of future packs: assuming my math is correct, after 7 months going Premium pays off... as long as the future packs are < ~1500 points I am getting a better deal.

My only worry is favor - but I guess that is why you have friends and guest passes.

Anyways, firstly there is no right or wrong way to pay and play the game. I've gone down the premium model & well the current $49.99 for 6900TP is great. I'm jealous I couldn't get in at that price when I first started. Remember 12 months of VIP @ $15 per month is $180.

Total [current] Adventure Packs @ 20% discount = 9157TP [some were even 30-50% off recently]
Premium items = 8588 [see below for included breakdown]
Monk Class 636 [-20%]
Shared bank 1196 [-20%]
32 pt builds 1196 [-20%] non VIP
+10 shared bank 796 [-20%] non VIP
Veteran status 796 [-20%] non VIP
Favoured Soul 636 [-20%] non VIP
Warforged 476 [-20%]
6 x +1 Char slot 2856 [-20%]

So [$49.99/6900TP X 3=$149.97] 20700TP - 17745TP = +2955TP

Now you can save on any of these premium items and keep them for any more future content. I've not bothered to purchase all 10 slots, but have the rest. With that you'll still have 2955 TP [not including favor gained TP's] which will be enough for what I imagine any new Adventure packs and/or races/classes.

Now the key to getting the best deal is patients as well, you need to ensure you get all your purchases at least with the 20% discount [higher the better].

done and done. just forked over a ton of cash, but in the long run it will pay off. I just need to keep reminding myself that, though I feel like a fool for falling for Turbine's "OMG THE BIGGEST THING IN THE WORLD, EXTRA 20% DEALS... WOOH."
