A good Cleric...

I just wanted to thank people who play Clerics... well.

I was recently in a level-appropriate group running Kobold Assault elite. We had one Cleric (Hi Junah!) who did an amazing job keeping us all alive and we finished the quest without a death.

Later, I helped out on the same quest with another level-appropriate group which had two Clerics. AND we ran it on hard instead of elite. Piece of cake, right? NOT! Someone forgot to teach BOTH these Clerics that their survival depended on the group's survival. They treated healing pretty much as something self-targeting. They kept themselves alive as the rest of the group died... then they died. We finished the the quest but averaged two to three deaths per player, I used most of my healing potions, and my repair bill was many times what it normally was. The whole thing made me nostalgic for the other group.

So, to all the well played Clerics out there keeping our parties alive and kicking, thank you. You all rock.

I'm picturing 2 battle clerics, each thinking the other one was "the healer." Communication is your friend. It prevents situations like this and also prevents 2 clerics sniping heals from each other, blowing all their SP and contributing nothing else to the group. One healer that knows they are healing is better than 2 that think the other guy is. Of course, maybe they really did just suck..lol.
