When I first saw his build, I thought it was a joke. Too many tomes, too much raid loot. But the core of the build has merit.
I went with monk for my evasion. I like monks and that wisdom AC bonus is nice, and the saves are great. The Finishing move for monk strikes are based on total level, not monk level, so Breath of the Fire Dragon @ level 10 is hitting for about 80 pts of fire (area of effect), @ 20 Should be hitting 160ish. Been hitting Spell Crit with it too, getting over 140. Wind Stance and expeditious like running around with perm haste, don’t need the spell.
7 wizard for firewalls, shield, blur, displacement, fireshield, etc
11 Cleric for blade barrier, divine power, divine favor, etc

Only Lvl 10 right now, but luvin this build. Buffs for days, clobberin everything with a +2 Icy Burst (thank you winter games) Shocking Burst Quarterstaff of Pure Good bound and imbued with Force. Low AC? no big deal, got blur and displacement. Can't hit the mob, no biggie, divine buffs & heroism to raise your BAB. Heal yourself on the go. never a reason to stop.

Granted, you are gonna want good loot, but that is true of any build. Right now doing good with average loot.
