IIRC Chaosguards provide a dodge bonus (but I could be mistaken on which bonus type) while AC bracers provide an armor bonus. Usually when I see Quis he's wearing his DT outfit, which already provides an armor bonus of 6. You'd only get 2 more AC with +8 bracers, but with chaosguards you get more.

So this new update that everyone is saying is going to nerf two weapons fitness, is that going to really hurt this build? If so how might you modify it. Would you switch to a kama and change your feats? would you just reroll and make a cleric to heal you broken monk soul? I ask because I am a really new player who has broken his teeth on this build (and really enjoys it by the way) and is not sure where to go from here if these change really hurt game play.
If it goes through as planned it looks like you will loose 20% of your offhand attacks but gain 10% extra main hand attacks (while in wind stance) plus i think you loose 10% attack speed from winIV (it has now become the 10% extra to main hand) However keep in mind its all relative as the other two weapon fighters are also being balanced down too. Its slightly harsher on monks though imo because the other classes only get half strength bonus to their offhand attacks, monks who get full bonus (when using HW) will have lost a higher percentage. Also Ki generaton will obviously be lower due to the lower ammount of attacks. Monk players didnt make as much noise as the tempest splashes so have kind of been ignored. Tempests have gotten quite a bit futher ahead of monks with the proposed changes although a little behind where they were. Fire stance becomes a bit more attractive as an alternative to wind as it wont be as far behind as it was before. (unless you are kitted out with all the goodies like tod rings and so on)
HW will still be far better than using kamas though as the natural increased speed of HW hasn't been mentioned as being removed let alone the much higher damage from HW.
A few weeks into the changes if they go ahead once people are used to it, i doubt it will seem much different. Same as when they decreased the haste bonus. Changes happen and you just adapt to it. (after a couple of weeks of moaning of course in most peoples cases haha)
I can attest to the effectiveness of Quis' build, his monk is a MONSTER, the first time I ever encountered him we where doing icy runs, he beat us to the boss in typical monk fashion, by the time we got to Garamol's room Garamol was dead... I'm wondering if any of the monks here saying that his build is not good can solo Garamol. When he says "I'm going to go pull this mob." he's not really pulling them, he'll return to the group and there will be no mob, Group: "Where's the mob?" Quis: "dead" If you know and ask anyone on Sarlona who has encountered Quis they will say they wish they could play half as effectively with their monks as this guy. I'm sure he posted this build because there are many people who have asked him for advice on building their monk. I'm respeccing my monk soon, she was one of my first toons so she is still on a 28pointer, when I fix her I will use Quis' info posted here and I'm very excited, if I have even a fraction of the skill that he has I will fall in love with my monk all over again.

I recently rerolled my monk based on this build. I have to say that my new monk is doing a lot better than my old strength based one. Whatever criticism this build may have gotten, I have nothing but praise for it! If there are any changes made with new updates please keep this post updated with the most recent stuff!
