Then I honestly don't see what your complaint is. 60 scrolls is chump change and with a little bit of strategy you can do it without using a single scroll or pot, the same goes for most other epics. I tend to use more scrolls running through epics on my sorcerer than I ever do on my cleric, but that doesn't mean I shouldn't play him, it all comes down to whether or not you actually want to go get epic tokens on that character.

What are we really talking about here you run like 5 epic quests and 10 raids with the same crew everytime. I am not saying that I do not just zoom through these quests and epics myself, but what I am more saying is there is something you are not saying.
Most Epic quests I do not run with Quik so Im not sure how he does them as our guild doesn't do things the same all the time, so I prefer to join groups that I know will do things a certain way.

And in my case I have already stated that we don't kill anything unless we need to--im assuming many of Quik's quest runs are the same as well.

This means 45 min or less Wiz king runs by using Halt Undead, or just run past things and dropping them in pits, and in really awesome cases with a Bard who can facinate undead. Time is dependent on if we are going in with a full group, or if 2 people go in and start clearing.

We also use Invis to pass up many mobs in many quests. In VONS & Wiz King it is common to have have 1 or 2 people go in and prep to the end/last fight/picking up item. So really, its just tactics.

Of course if a group is killing every single mob, they are going to use more resources that I do. I don't and wont play in groups that do this.

Now to get scrolls, in downtime some of us go into these quests by ourselves and just kill the mobs at the beginning while killing time between raids and such.

I was informed this run took so long due to gear, not tactics.

We had a long run early this morning (3am ish my time 6 on the east coast) we were all beat tired, not sure why we did it really. But it took less than an hour. We had 2 melee beating on the wiz king, which by far was the majority of our time sink. The fight went horrible. One melee was using a harry beater maul basically, the other using dual x2 pos with flaming burst. We also had issues kiting the wraiths for some reason, maybe the incen cloud??? We also went in with half mana on the casters, but whatever we were tired and didnt feel like running back up. Like i said, still less than an hour.

Without proper gear and tactics epic can be a nightmare, with these things many epic quests are a walk in the park.

If you don't want to fork the occasional bill for the epic run gone bad then don't do epics on a cleric. I, on the otherhand have no issue doing such and my cleric is my favorite character by far. 50-100 heal scrolls and a couple pots on a terrible epic run is no problem so long as I get my token and loot. My cleric is my richest character by far because of the named non-binding equipment he gets outa epics (red scales, firestorm greaves, etc.) which sell for 4mil+ and everyone needs a cleric And pots are no issue, I usually start selling stacks of 20 for 2mil whenever I hit 100 majors on my cleric. Find a good group of players and group with them exclusively is my advice. Unless It's uncle mah healing I don't trust any other healer to fill my spot ;p
