Thumbs up Haggle Skill..Should apply to repairs!

I feel the haggle skill should apply to repairing items as well. It just makes sense. I could be wrong, but it seems not to apply to the items I am repairing. Am I having a bug issue, does it work for others?

    I agree.

Also, why are simple barkeeps able to repair our items right inside their taverns, yet we have no ability to repair our own items even though we are adventurers. You'd think we would have a better skill or understanding of our gear than some nameless barkeep. What gives?

Same reason why the barkeeps buy tons of tons of tons of junk and hardly sell anything, but never run out of money.

Maybe they should stick with selling drinks and food.

Personally I'd rather see the repair skill affect your ability to repair your own stuff like maybe the higher your ability the less chance of perm damage or the less materials it requires (gives a use to those useless collectables )

    Thumbs up Interesting....

I like the idea of repair skill possibly affecting the cost to repair your items. Nice input, I understand I veered a bit off of your suggestion, but I like it.

Actually I don't think it should be an ALL chests thing I think the Devs should make a quest where the chests (and other inanimate objects) are alive and only chars with high haggle or intimidate can open chests/doorsnut not traps (give my poor Wiz/Rog something to do) or dare I say it a high BLUFF lol...if only so people can say "SEE I told you it works" :P

End boss would either be a Transmutation or Illusion Wiz or a...dun dun dun DRUID!!! lol.

This is an AP I would definitely buy....especially if it must include an Living (or talking) sword as a unique...or something sort of alive equipment (Living Lockpicks that never run-out comes to mind)

Edit: Sorry I had too much fun with this reply...**** my overactive imagination

Thumbs up I agree with OP

Basically, I do feel your haggle skill should apply to all NPC purchases. Wether for repairs, purchases or selling.

One reason not to is that your death penalty includes a negative to skills. So after you rez out, you either have to wait for your penalty to disappear or pay a higher rate on your repairs. I don't know if adding encouragement for standing around after a death is the direction the devs want to go in.

    Cool Ok, but

That also applys to the current selling of vendor trash as well. So If you are not waiting for that penelty to dissappear before selling junk then this type of change wouldn't apply to your playstyle anyway.
    Thanks

Actually, I do. In fact I usually buff and put in a haggle item even for stuff like arrows. For stuff I can sell at the brokers, I dump it as the bar then buy it back once I'm done questing and sell everything to the brokers. Sometimes I'll even buy back the junk and sell it again if I did something like forget my Haggle item.

What can I say, I'm cheap.

But dumping and buying back is generally pretty quick. Waiting to repair so I can get back into questing shape is a little different. But it's not a huge deal. I just thought the downside should be pointed out as well.
