Price check on Maelstrom.

How much do these go for? I see people mentioning them here on the boards as one of the best starter weapons. I do not plan on making any new characters any time soon and was wondering what I could sell it for.

This weapon has one of the largest price swings there is especially nowadays since it is a F2P Raid with no lockout timer or flagging. If Tempest is being farmed a lot a lot of these show up and value on them is in the low 10-15k plat range but if Tempest farming runs are low it can rise in price up to 100k plat though that price is a little high on a non legacy server. 10k-30k plat will generally assure you a sale in a cycle or two with 50k+ taking a while

Isn't it only the older ML 2 versions that are worth anything? The newer ones are ML 8 right?

What qualifies as old? The one I have is ML2 and it was pulled in 2010

they changed the star of irian of whatever its called from level 2 to 8 long time ago but all the maelstroms iv ever seen are still level 2

No the newest ones are lvl 2 there was a period where the level jumped up but that last one I got was lvl 2 again.
