Default Would Like to Try Tempest Spine

My wife and I would like to get into Tempest Spine but, being newer players, we hesitate to jump into any pugs we see forming since, to be honest, some people can be quite brutal on folks who don't already know what's going on. I thought I'd ask here and see if there's anyone who runs on weekends and wouldn't mind dragging a couple of n00bs along and teach them the ropes.

Tritonias is my Warchanter Bard and Syrynia is my wife's Sorceress. We play on Friday nights as well as on Saturdays and Sundays. We're both eager to learn and willing to come prepared.

In the meantime, we're doing our homework. We've done our reading about Tempest and watched some Youtube, so hopefully we won't be completely lost when we get in.

    Thanks!

Send a message to Drwhofan! She probably has characters on your server and she absolutley loves Tempest Spine. Also she prides herself on taking new people through this quest and teaching them the ins and outs.

Totally unrelated...+1 for the guild name.
Axebiter, Cujo, Runeforge, Runefury, Runegoth, Runehealer, Runehamer, Runehorde, Runenight, Runesongs, Runezephyr
And the forgotten: Runeaura, Runedevourer, Herstinkie, Runewolf,
Caught somewhere between casual player and power gamer.

best bet is to send a tell to the party leader letting them know you are new to the quest and asking if they mind a few first timers. I always accept rookies and slow down the quest accordingly, most people will let you know if they don't want any noobs.

If you don't have an underwater action item or the free clickie from Korthos I reserve the right to make fun of you.

there's a lengthy underwater swim involved but you don't absolutely need water breathing for it, there are air pockets

At the endof the grotto you should have recieved a ring with a clickie of water breathing on it from the cleric. It's useful enough to keep on most characters until you pick up an Underwater Action item. The old no minimum level items are probably tough to get a hold of, but the new drops are level 7+. A min 9th level item with some other random effect like Con +1 or Bluff +3 should probably be pretty cheap on the auction house and can drop in quests around your level.

He's saying that if you don't have either of these, you're missing an important tool. Much like someone at your level lacking any form of featherfall.

i'll have you know i have never used feather fall (willingly, except for one time after I tr'd where I forgot who i was on) on my main and you don't need feather in this game if you can wall glide. seriously. i've played him around 3.5 years too

Heh, in another of Turbine's MMOs, you take full falling damage every time you wall bump. Meaning bumping down is guaranteed death.

Took me forever to even try it in DDO...

I didn't say that it was absolutely required for every character, just that it was an important tool. Some characters can work around it. Still, jumps like getting the lone tree in Searing Heights or taking the direct path through the drow area in menechtarun or surviving being blown off of Tempest Spine will be difficult or impossible for many characters to do without even a featherfall clickie.

Similarly, I very seldom have to switch in a UA item on most of my characters. I even managed to make the swim in that flooded quest in Necro II without UA after my UI bugged out and I couldn't click on my hotbars. I still keep one on all my fleshy characters because it's convenient.

This is a great, very fun raid.
    a small checklist:
    Underwater Action
    Fire Resist
    Deathblock
Transmuting/Construct Bane-type weapons for your Bard

Even in an ill-tempered group, there are usually one or two people who don't mind coming back for you or explaining what happens next. Don;t be afraid to say you're lost.
Underwater, remember the rule of rights, meaning keep along the right wall.

Look for Zeran or any Royal Bloodliner this week and we'll try to set something up.

Tot is a good guide. Just don't let him in in your guild.

    Default On This Weekend

Thanks Tot. We won't be on until this weekend. Trying to keep the game addiction under control.
