Default Tried to buy points- No Dice

So I have a VIP account and I'm using my debit card from my bank in L.A but I am currently in Japan. No problems with that. But I saw the power point special and I figured a few extra points could come in handy. So I went in game and tried to buy the points and it tells me I'm in an unauthorized region. What's up with that? It's a regular U.S. debit card and I've had no problems using it to pay for my sub.

I even checked out the account options to see if I could buy points that way. But nothing doing there either. Seriously, putting an option to buy points and maybe even items from the account management page is a good idea. It could work just like changing a subscription options and you could buy points even if you're not within reach of a computer with an copy of the client on it. It could be useful if you're traveling when a special is introduced.

Some advice on how to enable point purchases in the future would be appreciated.

Have you got a PayPal account? Try to purchase via that and have the PayPal do the drawing of funds from debit card?

I used to about 10 years ago, but I haven't had much use for one recently. I'll look into it. Thanks.

Edit: Tried to set up a PayPal account. But they asked for a Routing number from my checks in addition to account number and credit card information. Since I was never issued checks on this account, I can't sign up. Foiled again. Thanks for the advice though.

The routing number is typically unique by bank. If you contact the branch of
the bank where you opened the account (and they presumably know you), they
can give you the routing number.

Thanks. I'll try to get that when I go home this summer. I don't figure they'll run a special like this weekend before then.

    Unhappy

I also had issues with buying points this weekend. I tried 3 different credit cards and turbine gave error (140000) saying that my IP address didn't match the area of my card's billing address...tighter security...blah blah blah.

My real thoughts: Tons of people tried to buy points since it was 2 for 1 and the system couldn't handle it. It took 2 days and a bunch of error messages for turbine to update my credit card (expiration date had changed). Once the change went through I still got error #1 (cannot process at this time). I spammed the purchase button until my request went through. Hopefully I don't go home today to find that I have 345234523453 points and 5000 on my credit card. I was finally able to buy points last night at 8:00 (after trying all throughout the day Saturday and Sunday). Hope you got yours before the deal expired.

No customer support on a weekend with what I can only expect was increase volume....Doh!

Also paypal requires verification, which takes 2-3 days, or you fork over your online bank username and password...LAUGH.
