    Default Reaver's Fate Puzzle

    Heya,

I've have only done this once in-game, but have been practising outside of game. The site I use only gives me 10 shots at solving the puzzle - is this the same in tha game? Or is the only limit a time limit?

    Thank you

I think most of the pug raids I have been on the folks where using a solver.

However I have seen a screenshot on these boards of someone figuring out the combination they needed, filling the "board" with the wrong combination. After all the lines on the board are filled up, putting the correct combo in, and getting completion. So I believe it is just a time limit.

You get 10 tries and then the board fills.
If the next one (11) is incorrect, you go boom.

It's easy without a solver (and I'm no good at puzzles).

I've always heard that you have unlimited tries(Until the timer runs out), but you just can't see the results after the tenth try. I'm not sure, since I don't think I've ever run out of attempts.

Oh, and I don't use a solver either. I actually wrote one back when the air ellies were a pain that used a different approach designed to minimize the number of elementals spawned, and I use the same techniques I coded into that solver when I run it now.

If you are using the "solver", running out of feedback would be disastrous. I've never run out of attempts, but the next time I go in I'll pull the lever to use up the first 5, and see what happens.

The advantage of the "Leave the last one blank" method is that once you know the 4 colors and last position, you don't need feedback.

Just tested this during lunch today. Pulled the lever 5 times to use up the first 5 guesses, then used the next 5 to determine the colors were two green, yellow, and purple in the 4th spot.

The 11th pull resulted in the "incorrect" message, and more elementals spawned.

The 12 - 17th pull resulted in absolutely nothing.

So, if you're in a group and they use up the 10th feedback, give them one more chance before you bail out.

    Bail out after your dead..

Because you can indeed complete the puzzle anytime before the time limit, regardless of the number of attempts.

You simply picked the wrong combination on the 12-17th pulls.

I've seen it completed after 20 pulls several times.

Attempts beyond the 10th simply don't give you any additioanl info on whats right/rwrong, but entering the right combo always completes the quest.

I'm not sure why people bother with the solver...
