Not maxxed buffed tho, maxxed pure halfling heroes companion bard will push it to 800+ crits. Believe the bard had 15 bard levels and was a warchanter, so fairly good.

Depends on my mood. I sometime say random things for fun. Sometime just "fire" or "breath" in this case.

Yea I know, thats why I tried to look up above her head a bit.

But the combat log should be pretty clear and readable in HD, especially in fullscreen mode.. So you can pause at certain poitns and look at it. Also the killing blow is fairly obvious as it sits there for a few seconds.

On sarlona it's almost always inferno in the groups I've been in, but then its the same people who do abbot, so they already know how to respond to that word.

Of course, we also utter out inferno randomly in other quests too, just to freak people out.

Unfortunately (or perhaps not?) Fraps captures my audio card too.. Which has the side effect of disabling my microphone, so you can't hear me in the videos anyways.

You could always use xfire, it captures your mic as well as what you hear, unfortunately it captures your mic even when you're not using your push to talk.

xfire results in worse video quality. I like to keep it as high quality as possible so the combat log is readable.

My 1 hour 30 minute end of beta video I recorded on xfire begs to differ, I can read my chat perfectly fine on my end. You probably just have xfire set to capture at half the screen's resolution, instead of the full resolution - which would result in worse video quality. My video quality in the end of lamannia beta was so high that I had a very very large file after an hour and a half. I forget the exact size because I had to remove the sound before I decided to do nothing with the video, so the version I still have is only 3.92 GB (for 1hour 33minutes, 5seconds), but I'm sure the original was easily 50x as big in file size. Of course, even my 3.92 GB file still has readable text on my side.

Now my videos for when I participated in a lag test for shroud on lamannia the text isn't readable, but I had my recording settings different at that time.

Actaully I've never used xfire to capture video. Just going by the fact that nearly all the DDO videos i've watched on xfire.com are worse quality then those on youtube.

Now perhaps I could use it to capture uncompressed video at 1080p/60fps like fraps does, then upload it to Youtube?

I think I could simply use fraps and use both soundcards at once to capture voice/game audio in seperate feeds and merge them, but i'm not really worried about it anyways.

Xfire records the file to your computer, from there you can either upload it to xfire (and xfire will change the settings of the video significantly resulting in a lot of quality loss) or you can upload it to youtube/veoh. You can record your native resolution, or half your native resolution, and at 25, 30, 60, or 100 fps.

1) you could have used some music, doesnt have to be the crappy rapmusic from every other video but something atleast
2) why where you switching to your greensteel? had that a reason? was it maybe a fire absorb one? just curious

I was able to hit an 807 point crit on her with a full halfling heroic companion bard, so with your gear it should be easy with the right bard.

I love halfling warchanter bards.

Most of the fights in DDO don't look that fun when they're done right. They look vanilla.

When it's a terrible group getting through by the skin of its teeth the action looks crazy.

Yeah, pretty anticlimactic. But not really much different than the bulk of VOD, or Shroud 4 and 5 , or abbot, or dq. Surround and pound with some distractions mixed in.
