I am new to the game so perhaps I am misunderstanding something. I am free to play, I have a character with more than 400 total favor, I recieved mail saying I could now play a drow, I talked to the drow representative in the harbor, and I still can not play a drow character.

try to restart the game, it might be that it dodnt get updated correctly
also you could try to talk to nyx a few times more, who knows, might work

Thank you, but I achieved enough favor 2 days ago. I have talked to Nyx several times and logged off several times, still no drow.

edit: I was frustrated so I went to talk to Nyx again. Details,

Nyx has a golden chalice above his head. When I talk to him he says "We honor strength, blah blah blah. You have been accepted blah blah blah" My only response is "It's an hooonor to be accepted" Then the conversation ends and he still has a golden chalice above his head. That doesn't seem right.

So, you got the favor, got the mail, talked to Nyx.
Does your favor screen show it advanced to the next tier of favor?
And you're trying to make the character on the same server, right?

Yes, it did advance to the next tier of favor.

It has to be on the same server? That stinks, I already have 2 toons on that server.

Favor unlocks are restricted to the server.
Store-bought unlocks are across all servers on that account.

If you spend $5 in the store on points, don't even buy anything, you'll get 2 more character slots per server.
