One campaign there was some monsters with dr running around and only my wife and I had weapons capable of damaging them it was great most groups in town would avoid the area they dwelled in and our group would go out and everyone would make a shield wall and my wife and I would plunk away with our xbows until the beasts were dead for a while my wife and I were really popular and on demand at all times since some of the beasts would come to town for a snack later when everyone could damage the beasts they were no longer a threat but the game was fun for a while
I defintiely agree with the low level fun. Last year I set my High level (Bard) aside to play a level 1 character... I spent as much time on the ground unconscous as I did on my feet with a sword in my hand...

The one I started playing recently is Dystopia Rising.

    Brand New Game

They were at Dreamation and have had 1 event beside that. Next event is the weekend of April 16th.

    in Connecticut

Rules are still a work in progress but they aren't bad. They are really seeing what works and what doesn't.

BTW if anyone knows where to get Biodegradable nerf darts ... that would be awesome. Dystopis uses guns and Nerf guns are an acceptable phys rep. If we can get Bioderagable darts though we can use them with less fear of the darts cluttering up the environment... Which is high on our priority list.

I used to LARP back in the day, but was banned after I switched tennis balls with red and orange streamers tapped to them for tennis balls soaked in gasoline for my Fireball spells. My LARP group didn't think it was cool and neither did the cops.

Wow!! While I appreciate the effort.... NOTHING good could have come out of that...

Last summer one on my sons wanted to do the 'spitting fire' trick. He was spitting kerosene for 3 hours afterward...ROFL!!

How many DDOers... are LARPers? What game do you play? Where at in the US (or outside the US).

I started KanaraK 8 years ago in Indiana, still going strong all these years later and are gearing up for another year of "weekend long" games.

    Thumbs up Guilty!

I have LARP'd for 10 Years in Connecticut. I play Fantasy Quest...about 150 active members. 3 day events with boffer weapons. Lots of great role playing and good story line. Combat and spell casting are a blast.

    Check it out: Fantasyquest.org

    Good times.

Played a Larp briefly in texas that used small little round nerf like things that were shot from a turned down paintball gun they were biodegradeable I think cant recall where they got them but they were a bright pink color and didnt really hurt even if some jerk got sneaky and tried turning his paintball gun back up.
