    Potvin,

Good luck getting your Devout wraps out of the Shadow Crypt, it will be a real pain unless you get really lucky. I just got mine last night and I am lvl 20. I have heard people say there is a 5% chance they will drop for you. My luck was a fair bit worse than that and I got mine on my 43rd run. I didn't even need these until I started doing raids. I started doing raids late (only a few months ago).

If I could offer you some advice on getting these wraps, here are a few things that might help:

-You need all 12 cogs (3 of each color) to get the bonus chest. The devout wraps are only in the bonus chest.

-The Devout wraps bind on acquire, so if others are helping you get these, remind them not to loot all (this happened with groups I was in at least 3 times)

-Several guilds have "openers" for this quest. They can open the quest for you without you having to complete the other Shadow quest series needed to open the Shadow Crypt quest again. You won't get end rewards, but you will get a chance at the wraps. If you are in a guild, ask if they have people that are openers for this quest. If they don't, suggest it. Once you get your wraps, become an opener and help out all of the monks behind you.

-When creating LFMs for this quest, make sure people know it is a item run. The Phase Hammer also drops there, so you can get people looking for that also.

-There is a way to run the quest repeatedly, but I won't go into that.

-If you are cool with spoilers, here is the quest guide from Lost Leader:

-This quest is not random. When I found this thread, it help the runs go a lot faster:

    Once again, good luck,
    Ez

Thanks EZGoesIt for the information. Helps a lot.

Really what this came down to is I was misinformed, and by more then one person. Perhaps in retrospect, my guild last night thought I was talking about the holy wraps that ARE actually on that static drop list (of course, I wouldn't need these).(edit: actually, I may have simply gotten 'devoted and devout' mixed up as well).
It seems like getting devout handwraps is really difficult to pull off, so I can temper my expectations accordingly. No big deal.

Ok, so no need to obsess over running Delera's again for something I thought I should be getting.

Re: the MMO comment, really, I'm not sure this is the right MMO for me. However, I've played MMORPGs for over a decade with little difficulties or problems with 'grinding' to get things. Also, the MMORPG landscape right now is pretty terrible, with this being the best of the bunch since Turbine wrecked LOTRO with Mirkwood. The combat system of this game is really, really neat, and dynamic though.

It's also semi-important to note that the only items you're guarenteed to see in the static list for a quest line's end reward is the Voice of the Master from Delera's and the Mantle of the Worldshaper from Threnal.

Any barbarian about to TR who wants a Carnifex for their first ten levels might have to do the chain fifteen times before it'll show up in the end reward list; you only get a selection of all the available items and a bunch of level-equivelant random generated garbage.

    No.

    Seriously?

Now I've got to muck through that quest chain again, and I'm nearly level 10. Fan-freaking-tastic :/

I've had to run it 7 times on a bard to get the cartouche. It's all a matter of luck. You just hope the items you need are in the list when you get through it. I know I have to run it at least 2 times to get items I want for any character and with the xp in there it's worth the runs anyway. One run for the voice and one run for either the Cartouche (for UMD), Iron Manacles, Carnafex, Linen Handwraps depending on what my build is.

Heck I make sure to do the optionals in part 2 and get max xp bonus in part 4 every run now. It's just worth it! Plus favor for a chunk towards 1750 and turbine points. Who don't like the free favor for talking to Delera?
Got a question the answer may be on the wiki! http://ddowiki.com
