Who has the character name Snake on Khyber?

Thinking about moving a character from another server over to my home base of Khyber, but I'd lose my name. Checking on MyDDO, http://my.ddo.com/character/khyber/snake/, the character with the name Snake right now is level one, anonymous, and not TR'd. I am guessing they are gone from the game, but I'm putting this out there in the hope s/he might contact me to discuss parting with the name.

There was a dude named Snake Pliskin. Like in the movie. Haven't seen him around in forever and I'm pretty sure it was just snake as the first name and Pliskin as the last not all one word.

I was wondering how long until dormant chars were deleted. I presume it has to do with how long the overall account has been dormant and not the char. Someone has the first name I want, and they havent played it since November.

I wonder if we can convince Turbine to make the first name field longer, or make it rely on first AND last to be unique? I want to name all my chars after Static X songs with Otsego in the name, but Otsegoelectric dosent fit....

Turbine never deletes dormant characters, which is source of great consternation to some, but presumably the people who only played for a week in 2006 aren't bothered by it at all...

Here's at least one thread that deals with this issue, but it's (the issue, not this specific thread) been around since the beginning, so I have little hope of it going anywhere.

I had the character Snaake Pliskin for a while, but have since parted with the character and the name. And yes, it was spelled Snaake. Good luck finding the Snake you're after!

Snake has to be a (somewhat) active player.
You're forgetting one important fact: If the toon hasn't been logged in in a long time, myddo will tell you that.
What's likely is that the level 1 that you're seeing is an earlier iteration of a current toon.

I know I have a level 15 that myddo shows as a level 1 drow FvS. The current character is neither drow nor FvS, but since the name has logged in, the myddo page still shows the earlier toon.

Best way to make yourself truly anonymous in myddo is to make a toon, delete him, and make a completely different toon with the same name.

As a stupid question.... especially because I meant to when I started thinking about this move and then went and totally forgot to do so! Thanks for the reminder - and now I have.

Just a thought, you really need more original names which can't be picked from a dictionary and/or list of famous fictional characters..

I have the original names covered...

This guy, I specifically build to replicate "Snake Eyes" (at least in my own mind), so it would be nice to keep the name. Often times I have an idea for a character based on a character of fiction or history. I like to give them names that remind me of that initial idea...that's all.
