    Default Problems with Secondary Account

Not sure where to put this, so here it is. I signed up for a second account for use with my main, and would like to run them side by side on the same computer. My computer has two harddrives and is partitioned specifically to let this happen. For example, I am able to run two accounts of EQ2 at the same time, one from D drive and one from F drive. But I am having trouble doing this with DDO.

I downloaded the game once and liked so I decided to have a second account. I signed up and the first spot of trouble was getting the Turbine d/l manager on the F drive to d/l the whole game again instead of updating, so I used the second d/ler on the website and d/led and installed it on the F drive. It was successful. So I go into the game on my first account and try to open the second game, but it keeps saying DDO is already running. Well, yes it is, but it's on a different drive. No other game I've played cares if I have another account running on the other side. So as far as I can tell it must install some common element in the same place, probably on the C drive even though I spefically told itto install else where, that causes this. It's quite annoying and atm I can figure out a way around it.

Can anyone be of any assistance?

    Thank you for your time.

Getting this to work is actually more of a technical issue than accounts, so I've moved your post. Please note that we do not support running the client twice on the same PC.

The following should be noted about dual client running in this manner:
    - it is not supported
    - it can break your installation
    - it puts incredible strain on the system
    - it was never intended as a use for the game client, it was always intended as one client one pc
    - doing so with any form of unattented controller software, hardware, macro's etc so that you do not have to physically control both game clients is a violation of the rules.
    - any workarounds that enable dual clienting that require editing/modifying the game software are technically a violation of the Terms of Service and EULA (specifically under Software and Downloaded Materials it notes that "You may not modify, alter or create any derivative works of any Software or Downloaded Materials.")

That being said we're not out to get anyone who dual clients/dual boxes following those rules its just that it is not supported in any official capacity and is not something that requires "fixing" as "one game client running-one pc" is the "working as intended" method.
