Default a couple of quick questions...

    1) Can you use divine healing or divine vitality on yourself?
    2) Is divine healing or divine vitality affected by any metamagic feats?
    3) Does blade barrier get any boosts from your enhancements or not?

Thanks for your replies they are greatly appreciated.

    Hi elfforce,

I haven't been clericing for very long compared to others on the forum, but I will share what I know thus far:

DH/DV can only be used on others in your party, and they are not affected by metamagics, though I have found both to be incredibly useful when grouping.

As far as I know, Bladebarrier is not affected by enhancements (the only one that comes to mind that affects offensive spells is smiting, and I'm fairly sure that only affects light- and alignment-based spells). However, it can be boosted by metamagics (empower/maximize) and potency/efficacy items (potency is constant as long as the item is equipped, while efficacy is a clickie, much like the difference between devotion and ardor).

I've also read elsewhere on the forums that arcane lore items (like elfcrafted armor) can give your BBs a chance to crit.

Others will be able to expand upon what I've mentioned above, and I look forward to that, as I love learning more about the game. Take care and have fun!

One thing that is often overlooked is that potency also affects healing.

It can be empowered, extended, heightened, maximized and quickened!

So yes, your enhancements can affect Blade Barrier!

Except those are feats, not enhancements...

Unless he was referring to the enhancements that reduce the cost of using those feats.

But per the OPs intent (as I read it), you're correct.

Enhancements won't increase the damage or DC of Blade Barrier, they'll merely let you cast more of them before your SP runs out. (Assuming you're using meta-magics to cast them.)

Except Clerics can only reduce the cost of Empower Healing with enhancements...which won't affect Blade Barrier.

Right, but he said your enhancements will allow you to cast more, not reduce the SP cost of metas. Energy of the Zealot will give you more SPs, allowing you to cast more BBs.

    Actually, he said this:

He is referring to enhancements to reduce the SP cost of metas which Clerics do not have.

He is referring to enhancements to reduce the SP cost of metas which Clerics do not have except for empowered healing.
Fixed that for ya. You're welcome.
