    Default The Healz Monk

    Human 18 monk/1 FvS/1x

    NEVERMIND IGNORE THIS THREAD! METAMAGICS NO LONGER WORK ON MONK FINISHER ACCORDING TO MRCOW!

    Strategy: Basically a unarmed monk build that focues on healing ki strikes and 123-538 HP healing light/light/light AOE finishers. The build sacrifices some feats and DPS for the ability to heal.

    Features
    Maximize/empower spell/empower heal metamagics to boost light/light/light monk finisher
    Good unarmed melee dps
    4-8 HP healing ki strikes
    123 HP healing light/light/light finisher (538HP heal to self)
    Monk IV stances

    There is some flexibility in the build, only 18 monk and 1 level of cleric or FvS is needed. The build could be str or dex based, could focus on damage, high AC, or high wisdom for combat feats like stunning fist.

    14 Monk13
    15 Monk14 Anything, toughness, weapon finess, stunning fist, power attack, monk past life, completionist
    16 Monk15

    20 Monk19 or another class

    At level 20 the light/light/light finisher will do 10d4 base healing (25 average) but with
    10% FvS healing enhancement
    50% devotion/potency (75% possible with clickies/pots)
    and 3 metamagics it will do...
    25*1.1*1.5*(1+1+0.5+0.5) = 123 average

    This character can get up to 438% healing amplification (maybe overkill)
    30% monk enhancements
    30% human enhancements
    10%x20%x30% item
    25% insight bracers (new in update 4)
    10% finger necklace
    15% 3x paladin past life feats
    (1.15*1.3*1.3+0.1)*1.25*1.1*1.2*1.3 = 4.38

    The light/light/light finisher will self heal for an average of 538 HP (123*4.38)

    The build will only loose 2 damage over a pure monk (1 step down on unarmed combat chart) as well as the damage elemental attacks would do. The build also loses 1 or 2 to-hit and monk 20 capstone. But I think that could be worth the trade of being able to AOE heal for 100's with ki.

    That looks pretty interesting I'm assuming he'll be more of a wand whipper/support melee? What would the beginning and ending stats look like for a build like this? If it's a dex build I suppose high ac would come into play and benefit the player more than if it was a str build or would it even matter?

    Either way, it looks like a fun build to try out! Good stuff

    Yeah I think I am going to buy another character slot and try it.

    I personally like str/con high HP builds and don't really go for AC or combat feats. I would probably go 18 monk/1 cleric/1 fighter. The fighter would free up a feat for another toughness. Assuming +2 tomes and 34 point (one monk past life) I would probably start.

    32 str (17 base, 5 lv up, 6 item, 1 human enh, 1 exceptional, 2 tome)
    24 dex (16 base, 6 item, 2 tome)
    24 con (16 base, 6 item, 2 tome)
    8 int
    18 wis (9 base, 6 item, 2 tome, 1 monk enh)
    8 cha

    Logic, I'm sorry to say that the healing metamagics won't work on the light/light/light Healing Ki finisher. MrCow posted in the other thread to say that at one point they did, but no longer do.

    Myself, I'm going to try a paladin 14/monk 6 healing amp version. Paladin Devotion IV would add 40% to the healing ki, on top of the 75% from an ardor potion.
    You're right that those type of enhancements do work, but you'll only have 10% with one FvS level- wand whipping ability could be nice, though.

    Nevermind. Thought metamagics didn't work, but wasn't sure. SolarDawning got it.
