Exclamation Malicious software found in Turbine/TWebBrower Directory

I was getting really slow frame rates in DDO last night so I desided to run my anti-virus scan and it found 5 Malicious files found in TWebBrower Directory that is located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Turbine\DDO Unlimited\browser\TWebBrowser as per screen shot. Can anyone confirm if they got this too? I just wanted to bring this to Turbines and everyone's attention.

    Question /ruh-roo

This...is not good. Thanks for bringing this up, hope a dev sees it.

However, I have a feeling it might just be your computer, as I can't really comprehend how The malicius software would get their and no-one in turbine notice.. Just a thought tho.

Actually I did. It's helpful in game when you need to find help on a quest with out leaving the game. I just get very paranoid when my virus scanner picks up anything. How do you know that this is the cause by the way?

'Cause it's finding issues with your cookies. Which you get from websites. And since you used the DDO browser to do it, the cookies are stored in your DDO folder.

    Bingo.

Op, basically you did it to yourself, not Turbine.

If you are that paranoid, why are you using the in game browser that does NOT have protection to hit outside sites? That is just begging and asking for issues.

Well the cookies should be stored with your normal web browser cookies, no? I said that the reason for using the in game browser this way is that it's easier to look at quest maps or walk through with out having to ALT TAB out. I didn't think it would cause any issues using their browser on other sites. Personally I feel this is something the dev's should fix or let you turn the cookies off.

Nope, becasue your'e usign the ingame browser not YOUR browser.... Answer is to NOT do such a thing..... Just open anotehr browser to hit your gaming porn On a serious note though... They will likely address this issue eventually, in some way... But I wouldn't ever use such a browser to surf.... Use it to access DDO forums, and or MyDDSlow only.

No, it doesn't work that way. The way they implemented it is that its a separate web browser from your OS's preferred browser.

PS: I'd be worried if you're surfing undesirable websites in DDO's in-game web browser.
    - I've been to so many raids, but I wouldn't call myself a vet, since I have yet to try out different strategies, tactics and classes in raids.
    - Main in sig, alts: Frostiee, Aliciae, Amandae
