    Default Another staff build...

    I've been leveling this build, is 7 so far, 4 rogue 3 monk. I have to say, when paired with a decent tank, the damage output is incredible. Even as main tank, it's still respectable, and the survivability is nice. Doesn't have the big fat hits of a THF barb, but it has a lot of hits. When he's in the middle of a crowd, there is a nice floaty cloud of damage numbers constantly rising over their heads. It's similar to some of the other staff builds out there, but a little bit different I think. Let me know what you think.

    Well, I didn't think tortoise such a huge thing, +2 concentration skill and +10 hp total at rank 2; not bad but not great.
    Hound also was sorta meh, +3 on flanking attacks is nice, but I felt that between Halfling Cunning IV and Rogue Sneak Attack Accuracy II I had enough flanking bonus going on (since most flanking attacks are going to be sneak attacks the SA Accuracy would help even though it's not specifically a 'flanking bonus'), plus the extra little bit of Listen skill is not really a selling point.
    What I liked about monkey was the saves vs traps, which combined with improved evasion is very nice, and the energy resists, while not huge by any means, stack with cast/potion resists and I am all about damage mitigation. Oh, and a little extra haggle skill never hurt anyone.

    one character of mine, so far, 2 monk 9 paladin. the number of hits is great but the amount of damage, like u said, is not really as high as a regular 2h fighter. its almost like a 2handed dps. using smite evil and divine sacrifice a lot.. i've managed a few smite crits to get over 100 base dmg. my build was not with 32 pt either so sort of lacking con.

    Wait, wait wait.

    Rogue 18 -
    UMD +8?

    And then, 19 -
    Spot +5?

    ..How?
    At level 17, UMD is already at 20.
    At level 18, spot is already at 18.
    The max rank of a skill at level 18 is 21; 19:20.

    If you look at the skill progression, he only raised monk class skills on monk levels, and caught up his rogue skills on rogue levels.
