Madstone Crater Boss Strangeness?!!

So I was soloing madstone with my reincarnate sorcerer...

Turns out the boss has mantle of invulnerability..

Did not know that, have done this quest dozens of times before and firewall has (IIRC) always worked great on him.

New addition or crack addict Morfane?

Hasnt worked for forever and a day. Sometimes, you can get one on him because he will bug and not cast right away. He always gets it up eventually though.

Disentigrate gets him in about 4-6 shots though.

I see, I had sworn that I had gotten a firewall off on him before.
And yes, Maxxed Emp'd disintigrate took him down very quickly after my initial panic and confusion.
