Default Improvements to Coin Lords Favor

Most everyone always complains about how much the coin lords charge for the use of the AH, right? And not to mention the coin lords are the ones who have their pockets overflowing with money in stormreach next to House K, right? Well, I have a few suggestions for improving the coin lords favor somewhat.

The rewards at 75 and 150 favor are ok, in my opinion. However, I personally believe that, starting at 150 favor, the % ammount of winnings deducted from your sale should decrease by 10%, to a total of 20% of winnings lost. Furthermore, at the next coin lords favor rank, which is, if I am correct, 325 favor, the posting fees for items will be removed, and you will only be deducted 10% of your total winnings on the item you have sold. In addition, at 325 favor, you can speak to the same NPC you gained access to at 150 favor to create plain lesser and greater hearts of wood!

Unfortunately, the ritual to make such an item is expensive. For the lesser heart, You will need 10 average khyber dragonshard fragments, 20 singed soarwood, a wand of lightning bolt (Caster level 10, with at least 10 charges), as well as 100,000 gold to cover the costs of crafting such an item. For the greater heart of wood, you will need 20 average khyber dragonshard fragments, 20 pieces of Lightning-Split Soarwood, 10 strong essences of fire(Obtained from using the Trap the Soul spell on the right CR fire elemental) and 125,000 GP to cover other expenses. Both hearts are bound to account.

But overall, I definitely believe that adding discounts to auction house fees by accumulating enough coin lords favor would be a great asset to anyone. And while being able to craft plain lesser and greater hearts of wood may not be everyone's cup of tea at 325 favor, if nobody likes it, there are other options based on items available at the DDO store that the coin lords can bestow upon players as either a one-time reward or repetitive reward. And while there are other favor rewards that can be improved upon, I figured out of all of the favor rewards, the coin lords, being the first favor reward players receive often, should be the first one that gets an overhaul.

The next coin lords favor is 400. I read that if you have every scrap of coinlords favor in the game, you end up with 401. So there should be a reward.

But I don't see that it should come from the AH fees. That's a huge amount of money, especially since the folks with the 400 favor are the ones with all the valuable loot.

Besides which, you miss the point of the fees. Very little in DDO is bound, so item and cash removal has to occur at some other point. That point was supposed to be the brokers, but the players essentially forced the devs to put an auction house into the game. Because the existance of the AH tends to undermine the attrition function intended, the fees are punitive. LotRO, for example, has much lower fees but almost everything in that game is BoE.

There is so much loot and money flowing around right now, its hardly useful to further undermine the limited tools that exist for preventing devaluations.

I agree with this - if the AH fees were to be reduced, prices of items would absolutely skyrocket. If fees dropped to 5%, I'd expect to see 1.5 million PP become the going rate on Large Devil Scales (if people would part with a valuable Scale for useless plat at all).

Reducing them only for the more experienced players would both have this massive inflationary effect on the economy AND would also prevent newer players from accumulating plat - a double whammy.
    I don't have a zerging problem.

    I'm zerging. That's YOUR problem.
