    Default Does Charisma affect spells?

Does charisma have anything to do with spells for a cleric? Does it affect SR or anything for spells like destruction, banishment etc? Or any other spells?

For a cleric? All it affects is your number of Turn Undead. (And possibly the strength of it, don't recall for sure)

It's worth noting that your Turn Undead uses (which are useless) is the pool from which your Divine Vitality and similar enhancements are pulled from. So don't neglect Charisma entirely, but it's hardly a main stat either.

Each Divine Vitality III use is approximately 27.5 SP and 'costs' 2 points of Charisma. Every 2 points of Wisdom yields 29 SP. So Charisma is - to some extent - a second stat that adds to SP (albeit not your own).

However, it will do so no matter what your starting Charisma is and spending 2 stat points only to get a bit more SP (no save bonuses, no spell qualification, etc.) is a bit costly. Pumping your Charisma as high as possible only matters in two situations: Divine Might and Turn Undead. By the time Divine Might is truly useful, a Cleric's melee tends not to be. And Turn Undead is almost never useful since even the 'success' result isn't normally a win.
