Afaik they have no button, the jedi uses the crystal or something to form his power into the light blade... the weapon doesn't work with the power of the jedi holding it.
My main question with jedi is however, as they can lift things ignoring Newtons third law (action=reaction), why can't they just lift themselves? With that lifting power any jedi should be able to fly around like superman.
Your jedi mind tricks don't work with me!

Star Wars was far more revolutionary and had better roots.
Star Trek has some good stuff and the new Star Trek was quite good I thought... but Episode 4 5 and 6 are by far and away the movies that most hold my heart... then again I'm also a monster fan of the original Dune
Rule 1: Don't sweat the small stuff
Rule 2: Its all small stuff
Rule 3: People are stupid. You, me everyone... expect it
more rules to come in a different sig
Star Trek. I'm not a big Star Wars fan.
I can't put it into words, but I like how Star Trek makes me think about what is right and wrong. Also, there are no magical solutions to the problems.
*attempts to Force Choke all TREKKIES ( ;P ) *
There is an "Alternate" Forum, PM Strakeln for details.
Arkats Padawan of Zen Noobility
Wielder of the Stiffler Salute
Eberron Lore - Lore-Keepers Lounge
I like both but must admit time has not been kind to star wars.
The 2 best things about star wars are Jedis and Han Solo, Star Trek you can always change the names and faces and still get that "Boldly go where no one has gone before" feel.

Well - **** the bean-counter, anyways!
This ain't half bad either.
Movie-wise, Star Trek of course .
However, the Star Wars world is much wider than Star Trek in terms of books, comics, etc.
Also, a lightsaber is able to be turned off using the button thing on it. However, most Force-users has a bubble of Force energy around them that deflects Force energy attacks. Don't know about the case with Luke though
Please split the class forums into REAL subcategories this is a jumbled mess.
