Default Can an Assassin 3, who's good a sneak attacking, also handle traps?

Ok, so I don't expect to be as good of a trapsmith as a full on mechanic build, but, will i be able to handle some elite traps?

    Interested to know.

I'll probably be drow or halfling class if that makes any difference.

Yes comrade, an assassin rogue can do just as well as a mechanic. Rogues should not limit themselves as being monkeys.

With the right items and gear, those traps are going down!

Just a few simple things are needed to get virtually every n/h/e trap in the game:
    - Max your trap skills
    - Use +5 Tools
    - Have a +6 or better Int item
    - Have a +15 skill item

No feats, enhancements, or boosts needed.

Epic, however, is a completely different story.

    Nice, and concise, and agreed.

My Assassin Rogue has yet to fail at a trap, no skillboost on elite. Sometimes in the inspired quarter i may need a heroism pot though.

My lvl 14 rogue was doing a lvl 16 quest on normal. I disabled a trap completely unbuffed on a 9 roll. I realized afterward I had left my DD + 13 goggles off. So I could have increased my DD by 13 (item) 17 (+4 skill boosts) 21 (+4 planar gird) 22 (prayer clickie).
22 skills points below what I could self buff AND it was two levels above me. I had a dream visor for +13 spot, but I don't use it anymore, since I can spot everything w/o it even on quests above my lvl with only 14 wis.

Traps are so easy, it's not even funny

From what I see, any pure rogue can do all the traps anyone ever cares about doing. Just makes sure to have +15 skill items in the hole, rogue skill boost, get some items for the relevant stats (+6 int and dex items), and max those two essential skills (search and dissable device) and you should be fine. For the tougher trap DCs I believe there was a guide circling around.

There's no excuse for any pure rogue to not to be able to do traps (since 2 rog splash wizards can do most traps in the game). Besides, most rogues are going assassin anyways and not mechanic or virtuoso.
