How do I get more conviction?

Hi!
I am a level 6 cleric and I sometimes cant destroy some undead with Turn Undead because, as it says, I lack conviction. How do I get more of this?

It means your chr is too low. You can raise chr or get turn enhancing items.

But don't bother. After very low levels a cleric can't build for turning without giving up something that actually matters.
