I was looking at doing a build mainly for solo play, but would be useful in groups.
I was thinking Kensei II for dps and 6 levels of cleric for healing and buffs. I was
wondering if this would work? Any ideas or comments?

6 cleric is sort of useless for healing and buffs - dont do it.
Other way around could be better, since you get many good spells at level 11, like heal/BladeBarrier/cmwm
Maybe 12 Cleric / 6 Ranger / 2 Monk?

Ah ok, I thought maybe 6 levels of cleric wouldn't be enough. I wasnt sure what level they got heal. I was thinking a dwarf with the dwarven waraxe smashing things and throwing heals. But if the heals usefulness would be out-leveled, than I guess it would be a wasted 6 levels. thanks for the input. Back to the drawing board.
Havn't done a cleric/fighter build in DDO, but I have done them in PnP as both a PC and DM and in my experience the cleric levels generally just arn't enuf to be a real help to a group and just gimp the fighter side too much.
12fighter 8pali or 12fighter, 6pali, 2monk (or 2 rogue). You can lay hands or wand whip if you need to while still being a primary melee.
