    Default Random crash of program

    Hey,

for a while now I've had problems with my ddo crashing at, what at least seems to be, completely random occasions except that it has always been during an instance.

I have the latest drivers for my graphics card, my sound card driver is a bit outdated from july 2009. I have heard that overhead names or healthbars can cause crashes and I have since long disabled them without getting rid of the problem.

I also ran a dxdiag and it showed no problems. Here are the specifications for my computer:

    OS: Windows 7 Pro 64-bit
    CPU: Intel E6750 Core 2 duo (2.66GHz)
    Motherboard: Gigabyte P35-DS4
    Memory: 2gb @ 800 MHz
    GPU: Geforce 8800 GTS 640mb
    Resolution: 1680 x 1050
    Internal soundcard

These crashes are really annoying in game, and I would be very grateful if I could get help finding the cause of this to rid it. Thanks in advance for the help!

    Best regards,
    Tobias, Sweden

Same. It seems for me that it has to do something with the latency- When the game crashes, my computer is sending thousands of bytes which is odd and I am receiving 0 bytes.

Have you guys been able to find a way to alt tab out of it, or are you forced to restart your unit like me?

Sometimes I can log my character out and that works. Sometimes that doesn't work and I have to restart the client. Sometimes that doesn't work and I have to restart my computer. xD

I think my problem is a bit different to yours. My system does not crash, but only ddo. If the system crashes you can probably think of it as a graphics error or similar. After my ddo crashes I can just instantly start it again and get back into the instance.

What happens is the game freezes suddenly and I get an error from windows saying that the program (ddo) crashed or something, and will be turned off. After the program has closed, I can immediately start ddo again and continue playing without problems until the next crash

    Is it simmilar to this:

I have crashes whenever protection spells or resistence spells are rapidly cast. Any difference in settings does not change the frequency of the crash.
