Default Which armor should I pick

    Howdy folks!

This is my first fvs character, he's mostly a healar but I want him to grow to a decent mix, be able to do some damage aswell. Im abit confused, don't know which armor that would be the best choice for my character.

Since I once collected white dragonscales with my monk and manage to fix all 20, I migth be able to collect blue dragonscales instead and get myself a blue one. It would take my a while but, but sure woth it.

What I wont to manage with this toon his a great healer, awesome one; but also a decent spell caster, blade barriers and stuff that makes damage, I wont my bb to HURT, I have played with fvs before, and some of them have really manage to create extrem bb, I wouldn't mind doing that eigther.

    Info about blue dragonscale armor.

Spell Penetration VII: Your Level 7 and lower spells gain +2 to the die roll to penetrate target's Spell Resistance.
Greater Arcane Lore: All spells gain a +9% chance to critical hit. All spell critical damage is increased by adding 0.25 to the spell critical damage multiplier. This effect does not stack with other item effects or potions.
Potency VII: Increases the damage of your 7th level and lower spells by 20%. This effect does not stack with other item effects or potions.
Greater Lightning Resistance: This property absorbs the first 30 points of electricity damage per attack that the wearer would normally take.

When my armor is baste on doing damage I can wear items that maximize my healing and my support role for parties, for instance good healing shields.

How about that ppl? Im ready to take my time to collect those scales, got more then on character so I dont need to worry about getting ransacked.

Suggestions or just a comment that my planes are pretty good, Im new to this type of characters.

    Regards Teo

you want greater arcane lore somewhere, so you have the following possibilities:

blue dragonscale armor -> farm for 25 blue scales
greenblade -> farm demon queen raid
skiver -> farm litany of the dead for tomepages
noxious embers -> farm black abbot raid

from those the blue armor is the easiest to get imo so its it
if for whatever reason you choose not to use the blue armor, then go for outfits so you can swap effects fast

Blue armor is NOT the easiest to get. Sadly, the Skiver is.

Litany can be solo'd (maybe not Cholthulzz, but you can always trade or buy those pages). Soloing the blue dragon in Tor would be...problematical.

Soloability means you aren't dependant on other people to get stuff.

Plus, the Tome pages have a better drop rate than scales, and you need a third fewer of them. It took me roughly 135 runs of Litany to get all 8 pages (and I bought one, traded for another with surplus pages). In 23 runs of Tor, I have 2 blue scales. At that rate, it will take roughly 287 runs of Tor to finish a suit of blue dragon armor.

Also, the Skiver takes up a hand slot, of which you have 2. Blue armor means no dragontouched.

well, i got my 25 blue scales in 3 days without even running the quest, you cant tell me you can trade 8 pages in 3 days that easily and that cheap. in addition that was on the europe servers where theres even less ppl online (or were at that time, its been a year already)

Effect of an older server maybe. A single blue scale runs about 1.5-2 million gold on Cannith.

Litany pages run 3.5-5 million. Usually a fairly decent selection on them, but less reliable than scales. Still, buying them all would be cheaper than buying the scales.

Also worth noting that setting aside the ease of acquiring and body slots taken up, the Skiver is just a flat out better item than blue armor.

Elf crafted is a cheap alternative until you get one of the grindier items. Only 20 elven relics and can equip it at level 10. Its only arcane lore and not greater, but better than nothing. As an added bonus the robe and docent have evocation focus... the armors do not.
