Default The purpose of Rez shrines?

Everytime I die i never come back at the shrine, i always come to the spirit binder. What are the shrines for exactly?

you double click on them when you're dead and they bring you back to life. also, they mock your death in a public forum. it's very humiliating

Default If your ghost is close enough or someone moves your stone close enough

You click on the rez shrine and you will be rezz'd right there....if you click to rez out, you will always return to your bind location.

Also if you res out of a quest without using the shrine many groups will get angry at you for losing an easily kept 10% xp bonus and you lose 20% xp personally for releasing and reentering, bad idea all around especially after characters get the ability to raise dead frequently.

    Just a little clarification here.

If you die, you drop a soul stone. If you are close enough to a shrine that you can get to it and click on it, you will be resurrected. If you are not close enough, someone will need to pick up your soul stone, and carry it to the res shrine.

If you click the OK to release button, you will be teleported to the last place you bound at, so don't click it unless you have no other choice.

    Default Thanks

OK thanks alot, i was really lost on this one. I was in the quest where you had to kill 200 kobolds and everyone kept reappearing after they died, but i had to run back from bar, couldnt figure how they got back so soon.

In this case... if you die close enough to a rez shrine, you don't need someone to carry your soulstone to the shrine. You can walk there yourself as a ghost. You are "tethered" to the soulstone and can only walk so far away from it before being teleported back, so the shrine does need to be close to your stone, however.

This all assumes you don't hit the rez button upon dying, which, as Cedwin points out, will send you back to the spirit binder.

This is how everyone was able to rez so fast (not that they should have died anyway). The shrine is right next to the place where most people stage the battle.
    Meh

Seeing people like you on the forums is a real bummer hefty. Most adults come to this game not only because its great fun, but to get away from the immaturity that plagues the forums/gameplay of other MMO's like wow. Yea, it was a nooby question, but guess what, this game has a lot of new players. I, for one, would prefer to teach the new guy and add to the community than shred him needlessly and ruin his enjoyment of the game.

This game finally has life to it and you're able to find groups in a decent amount of time. A game that is truly team based can finally live up to its own expectations. I understand that you are the DDO goddess or whatever, but can you leave that garbage for the WOW forums? You'd fit in awesomely over there.

P.S. My main is Firthen in game. Feel free to tell people not to group with me, spam me, or whatever other immature thing you'll probably try to do based on your above post. I'm su8re this won't help you grow up, but now I have "the sack" that is obviously so important to you for some reason.

Note that you have to be really, actually, fully dead to be a ghost that can walk around and click a rez shrine. If you are only injured down to 0 to -9 hp, you are merely unconscious and incapacitated. You can neither move nor click shrines in this state, although you can release to kill yourself right away and recall to your bound tavern in a single click.

If you use /death while you're at 0 to -9 HP (or was it -1 to -9?), it will kill you and spawn your ghost. (As opposed to sending you to your bind point which is what /death with positive HP will do)

If you find yourself in that precarious state though, it's generally better to just wait and see if you stabilize and heal to 1 HP though, that doesn't count as a "death" and won't lose you the Flawless Victory bonus.

By the way, you need to double click on the rez shrine. Once to target, the second to use. Or target it once, then press the (u) button to use if your hotkeys are defaulted. Once you "use" the shrine by clicking on it, you'll be brought back to life at the shrine.

I think we all needed a little more clarity on exactly how/what a rez shrine is used for/does.

Oh and you can't rez while you're alive -- you have to be a ghost in order to use any rez shrine. A rest shrine won't cut it. It has to be a rez (ie resurrection) shrine. If you use a rez shrine while alive the results will be as standing.
