    Default Pally guide

I'd love to help but am no Paladin expert. All I can do is point you to Junts' most excellent guide.

    Good luck!

After you read Junts' wonderful guide, you should understand the difficulty inherent with trying to get both high AC and good DPS. You simply can't get one without making sacrifices to the other. Given that, you should pick one that you're going to focus on. Having higher DPS means you kill mobs faster, which in this game is in many ways as good as having high AC. If you want to go pure Paladin, then you just wont be able to get that much AC, so I would recommend going the DPS route. On a WF, this is especially effective when done via the two-handed fighting feats and enhancements with the Knight of the Chalice PrE.

A quick model build for you would be:

    16-18 strength
    8 dexterity
    14-16 constitution
    8 intelligence
    8 wisdom
    14 charisma

Feats, in no particular order, are: power attack, THF, iTHF, gTHF, improved critical: slashing, toughness, and extend spell.

Put skill points into UMD with a little bit of tumble, jump, and balance.

    Enhancements at 20 should be:
    Capstone
    Bladesworn Transformation
Courage of Good II (pre-req for KotC)
    Divine Sacrifice III
    Exalted Smite IV
    Extra LoH III
    Extra Smite IV
    KotC III
Energy of the Templar II (pre-req for KotC)
Divine Might II (available with a +2 charisma tome)
Healer's Friend I or II (two would be preferred)
    WF power attack III
    WF THF III
    Paladin/WF toughness II-III

You'll do some massive DPS with this, have relatively good saves (inherent with 20 Paladin), and have a nice pool of HP. Hope that helps!

Basically you need high str, con and charisma. Smites can get into the 600 point range with the right build, which is better than tier three green steel. BUT you have to have the high charisma and pick your enhancements closely. A mineral 3 dwarven axe with divine might spell, a good strength, blood stone and bard buffs will have you smacking them out of the park. Also look to invest in lay on hands, it can 'extend' your hp considerably.
