Default Skill increase on level up question

    I'm Fighter/Vanguard Warrior/Human.
When I try to level up from 2nd level to 3rd level as Fighter I get these skills:

Please explain what do those numbers mean?
And how they are related to these numbers (I'm still level 2):

Does my Jump skill really increase by 3.0? (and up to 8?)
Does my Intimidate skill really increase by 5.0? (and up to 5?)
    How is that possible?
Anyway it contradicts with the numbers in my current skill table, as you can see.
    (A bug?)

Just in case you need full screen shots:
    Skill increase be level up
    My skills on level 2

Now I took off all items and level up (as Fighter) gives exactly the same thing as before:

My skills are these (I'm level 2, without any items):

So, it seems that I will get +1 to Jump and +1 to Intimidate.
But what is the meaning of Increase there?
Is it true that level 2 Fighter gets +5.0 to Intimidate?

First off, let's look at that second picture, which is in your skill window. Here, we have 4 numbers in a row. The first one is the final modifier you have for that skill, which determines how effective it is. Most times this is used as a modifier for any skill rolls (called a skill check) that call for that skill. In DDO, some of these, such as jump, just cause a 'static' increase in ability, such as being able to jump higher.

Now, the second number indicates the 'ranks' you have in that skill. Each time you level up, you gain a certain number of skill points, which you allocate (or automatically have allocated for you if you are using a pre-generated character) upon level up. Once placed, these points cannot be changed short of reincarnating.

The next is your ability modifier for the core stat linked to that skill. You can see what attribute that is by looking to the left of the first number. For example, Jump is linked to STR, or Strength. Increasing your Strength score to a higher, even number will increase your modifier, and so increase your final modifier for any skills related to that attribute.

The final number is a composite of anything else that affects the skill. This includes spells cast on you, +skill items you have equipped, and any feats or enhancements you might have taken. Some skills, such as Jump, take a penalty if you wear some armor or shields, though this is a minor concern in most cases.

Now, the first picture is what is shown while leveling up. I believe that it only shows your ranks in the skill, not total modifier. However, I tend not to pay attention to that window while leveling up, so I'm not entirely certain. Someone else might be able to shine a better light on that.

when you do the leveling it is showing the total number of points you have spent on that skill. which is something that came out in the last update, it used to show only the points you spent for that particular level.

in your examples, you have spent a total of 3 points in jump and 5 in intimidate
