Altho id love this it would be way over powered.
with class dr bypass of admintine magical lawfull along with 2 built tower rings with holyburst and shockingburst and my favorite handwraps +2 metaline of deception now with frostburst i do awsome dps.
if i could add s second handwrap in my off hand it would be my +1 holy of weighted 5% w/frost now im no algerbra wiz but 3burst effects + holy + frost+ metaline + monk attack speed and everything that goes with being a monk this would be unballanced i'd love it but its too much
this is very true, easy fix make wraps a weapon say 1d4 and place it under TWF or THF feat line (treat them like brass knuckles) and let us be done with it, doing this would allow for greensteel and we could be done with all this unarmed mumbo jumbo you dont have to redo a whole system just the weapon set they screwed up on in the first place
we could have something like ml:12-14 to be able to double them up(bonus feat maybe?)
or maybe a gift, for completing something our trainer requires of us*shrug*
that way, it would be neutral for the most part, then when every1 can wear their gs,
monks can pack on another set of wraps
Overpowered? cause you can add little more damage?
Rogues Ranger or warrior or berserker: vorpal weapons?
When I am group with players who have these types of weapons, getting just one third of their kills is difficult. This is overpowered in my view. Anything that one shot mobs is crazy. banishing, vorpals, smiting, etc. These are overpowered in my view. I remember trying to hit a mob before a freaking wizard or sorcer could Finger it. I couldnt wait till his power was gone so that I can get in a kill.
I think turbine is aware of this and implements them for player fun. I havent done any epic quest yet but I doubt that you can one shot mobs in there.
Monks can use vorpals too, it's a level playing field for melee. Everyone who uses vorpals is giving up their DPS to try to roll that natural 20, which is why it's such a joke when you beat something to death with them rather than vorping them.
No, you cannot one shot things in epics. Technically. Monks with weighted 5%s are a valuable asset in living epics because of the sheer swing speed. With just two people, a weighted proc turns into 50% or more of a target's life lost. With an actual group, it's as good as a vorpal.
Having an offhand handwrap would be a bit much, both to farm and in effectiveness. I already have like two backpacks full of specialized handwraps, I don't need that number doubled.
It wouldn't double right? you would be able to reduce it by half. In otherwords you be able to use 2 at time where now you use only 1. So with mobs of undead and golems you can have your smiting and have your disrupting. Rather then having to constantly swap your handwraps. Which most duel wielders already have anyhow. Right now I see devil, eek put up my banisher, then i see golem swap it for my smiting. It should lessen the amount weapon swaps we do in a quest. Inless they bring another type of monster out that immune to everything but some unkown element then you shouldnt have to add to your collection.
Then again I guess if you want 2 banisher to hit you might broaden it that way. I can see your point.
yea the feat idea is funny but yea we rocking with our feat to. That is overkill to have feat wraps.
One other note, ofcourse I put on two different handwraps or gloves. Heck I do it in real life sometimes when I can't find the matching pair.
Solution: put a metal crafting recipe and ingredients into the game for EVERY type of metal like there is for adamantine.
This way, people can farm flame touched iron, ritual it onto their bound metalline great ax of GEOB, and it now bypasses DR #/good as well. You could also farm silver bits from quests and ritual those onto holy burst handwraps and now you are backslapping Harry for full damage.
The idea as it is given, even though I love monks, and such damage would give me joy, is just to much in my humble opinion. There needs to be a delicate balance, If monks got the proposed hand wrap idea every hit would be of holy (handwrap one), holy bust (ToD ring 1), shocking burst (Tod ring 2) metalline (handwrap two) of GEOB (handwrap 1 or 2), and 5% weighted (handwrap 1 or 2). Surely you can see the problem of such combination. To much power might be a good thing for the class but make other melee will just fall behind as monks used to be. The idea above about a ritual allowing for you to add metallic properties to weapons I could get behind as it would truly help monks with problems with dr they usually have before they are lvl 18-20 (ToD rings, specifically the holy burst one) if they have had no luck in attaining devouts.
