    Default sorc/wiz?

i want a nuker with a boatload of sp and wouldnt mind being able to change out spells free. i know the sorc has huge sp so i'm curious if a sorc wiz combo would be good or if there are better ways to go about it. any ideas are helpfull as i am fairly new to casters. i do have 32pt and vet if that helps. thanks for any help

Spell power scales with level. Level 20 Sorcs and level 20 Wizards also get bonuses to increase spell damage (sorc) and spell DC (Wiz).

Mixing the two classes makes you spells weaker for each class. Not a good idea!

Sounds like you want a pure Sorc.

Perhaps a more concise explanation of why you do not want to do this would be this:

You would have a L 10 wiz, and a L 10 sorc. The highest level spell you would be able to cast would be the same as a level 10 wiz could cast. You would, in actuality, be a L 10 caster, inside a L 20 body. The do not stack.

If you really want to go all nuke you should probably check out others sorc builds. I do not think you would have to swap spells very often if nuking is all you want.

but a pure nuking sorc is a very crappy character.

Wow that's some quality tips right there. Do you know anything about the arcane class, even more the sorcerer?

A nuke built is very viable and very powerful when using the right combination of spells. Enjoy WoB and FoD trash mobs.

Sorc is designed for pure nuking, you will cast fast have lots of sp and will do more damage with your spells but you wont be able to change spells whenever you feel like it, you have to pay a hefty gold fine based on the spell lvl and wait 3 days before you can do it again.

Wiz is not as good at nuking casts slower and has less sp but is more flexable because of more skills and feats and changing spells whenever you like means you will always have the right spell for the job.

This is true actually, if you only pick damage spells what are you going to do when the party expects you to charm stuff and you didn't pick it up?

Don't multiclass wiz and sorc, it just doesn't work.

I suggest making a wizard first. Sorc is limited by his spell selection, and you can only change one every 3 days. Wizards can swap spells when resting, as long as that spell is in his spell book, so you can play a wiz for a while, get to know the spells. And then once you have gained the expience you can then make your sorc and he will be that much better from the experiance you gained as a wizard.

I also suggest looking at the sorcerer handbook which is on this forum, it tells you what spells and feats to take.

He is kinda right, SOR needs haste and jump and resistance...though I really doubt this is where he was going
