    Notes:

The Highlight of this build it's 743 HP and large Intimidate skill. This builds purpose is to Zerg until the quest reaches Dungeon Alert Red, Mash the Intimidate button, then to crawl the large concentration of monsters straight towards the party before they are ready to handle it or have buffed up. It uses that immense hp to soak up the damage once the creatures are beating on him and forcing the creatures to attack him. This will have the dual effect of negating any of the AC or HP your group has worked so hard for to be of any use, as well as making sure that your party is forced to run the quest the way you want it to go. Which is the point of playing DDO, to be the center of attention of course!

With 16 levels of Favored Soul it should have plenty of healing to keep itself alive to annoy the party during the entire quest. As this is a stat and skill intensive build I didnt spread any points into Strength or Dexterity. Engaging in Melee would detract from this build as it could potentially be seen as productive. I also skipped wisdom as well as I didnt want spell DC afflicting my build in the same manner. By not being able to kill anything via melee or magic it gives me the freedom to focus on the purpose of the build, which is of course Zerg-IntimiTanking!

Why 16 Favored Soul and Quicken you ask? Death Pact! You see if by some random happenstance you actually manage to die somehow, you can just self-res to annoy your party once more. No riding in the anyones backpack for you! Even if the party tries to get you killed just to get rid of you, you can just auto-res away and force your group to deal with you over and over and over. Yippie! You also want to take Soundburst as I feel it is an excellent AoE for pulling any non aggroed creatures from far away into your groups problems, But doesnt have any significant or damaging effect on the creatures which are pulled.

But wait, How can I annoy my party even further? Seliana, What can I do to make my party hate me even more? Well the Diplomacy skill of course! See by using Intimidate to pull the creatures off of your melee tanks, you can then drag the monsters over to the party casters instead and press Diplomacy, this enables you to shed all that aggro onto the cloth and robed players as Diplomacy makes monsters often attack whoever is standing the closest to you when you press it. And if any pesky Fighter or Barbarian pulls aggro back off of the Wizard, you can quickly go and rectify that situation. This forces those monster brutes to stab the wizards, sorcerers, and rogues first, right where that aggro belongs!

With a little practise, this can be the start of a beautiful wipe...

Go 17/3 for wings - you dont want multiple harried effects from stopping you reaching the party

    psh. fail.

    1) toughness is not a fighter feat.
    2) your goal is to move around under dungeon alert red and you stopped just before wings?
    3) needs more intimidate-boosting feats.
    4) diplomacy actually just drops you off the aggro list. it doesn't (or shouldn't, unless you're doing something really screwy) change anyone *else's* aggro rating. that mob will only go after the caster if the caster was next on the list.
    5) no evasion? how do you expect to survive dungeon alert red when you've got chain lightnings dropping all over you?
    6) if you're the first things the monsters see, you don't need intimidate to pull aggro anyways. you've got it already. because you're the first one they see. also intimidate is useless unless you're right next to them, which means it's actually quite limited in the number of monsters it can affect at one time. and the second you go running off to get more, and they fall behind... you're going to lose them.

this is a terrible attempt at a griefing character. i'm sure someone could do worse, but still... terrible.

Wings help to round up aggro & speed it back to the party without worrying that multiple harried effects might slow you down. The sorcerer level helps to boost your self healing SP pool and gives you quickened grease to cast on the party once you pull the mobs back to them, and quickened detect secret doors to help locate even more mobs for your friends.

Monk levels & Pally Dilettante provide excellent saves & evasion so you can keep on pulling those mobs with confidence.

Wow, such a lack of variety.

I only see two types of builds on this thread...

Those without improved fortification, and those who win the award

With this build, you will be able to swim through stuff like crazy!!! Though strength is sacrificed for intelligence to get the TRaps! You'll be able to show off in the swim of tempests spine, impress people with remove curse and summon your dogs for show! Improved Critical slashing and piercing are for you shruikens the pointed ones and the ones which are slanted use them wisely, pick up the shruiken from the raid: Shan to Kor.
Overall this build just outright pwns the best, it even makes TR's wanna roll this character, well here we go the Mega Super elfbeast of the Immortal Sunwave fury of Magical Inevitable Darkness is here!!!!!!

She wears a masterwork docent with an armor kit on it and says it is "the most ubertastic docent ever made and will crash any other computer used to look at was a gift from a dev who hid the coding for it and has since been fired" also a returning shuriken that can kill any raid boss except velah and a plain tower shield and swears she has the feat for it. The only other items she keeps are look alike copies of the other items so she can say they never take damage even vs rust monsters.

As such you may notice the ability to fight in any significant way has been stripped from the build as it detracts from the main focus of the build, which is of course: Roleplaying. This build was done as fighting in video games is quickly becoming an outmoded form of entertainment. However in its place is the foundation in its skills, feats, and stats to support having friendly polite verbal discourse with fellow players in addition to having this make sense from a characters attributes perspective. Now as 18's in stats are often seen as superhuman to most roleplayers you will find a careful balance of starting ability scores which can represent realistic levels of conversational capability without the required suspension of disbelief higher stats might incur for a roleplayer. By level 20 these stats will have moved on to a moderate but realistic increase in knowledge and critical thinking skills, with a high rise in the level of charm and persuasion which he or she has acquired throughout the last 20 levels.

Now I know your thinking, How can I gain all those levels in my characters career without actually attacking anything Seliana? I'm glad you asked! You see when this character joins a adventuring group, you will want to inform the party via an OOC tell (that is known as out-of-character) that you are simply coming along for the quest in a strictly passive role. You'll want to convey that you wont be doing any actual killing and you simply want to observe the events as they unfold. Now often times you may be met with rudeness and anger. So it helps to join a group, quickly step inside the quest silently, and afterward explain the situation. You will find they are far more susceptible to allowing you to come along once you are all firmly standing within the quest they are about to embark on. At this point it is generally a good idea to turn on some light music so that you can drown out the very loud and enraged out-of-character conversations about to be screamed over your headset. Reminding yourself that these fellow players are simply not as sophisticated as you, You should furthermore feel free to ignore the rest of what they scream during your new adventure. You may also wish to type them a message stating that if they are very nice to you, you might consider writing a story about them later to tell to the local village children once your adventure is complete.

Now that we have solved the quandary of how your going to level, lets talk about skills. Your new skills set revolves around being able to stay focused on topic(Concentration), Like any great speaker you have the ability to hear what others are saying(Listen), You also have the sweet ability to change the subject without your target noticing(Bluff), a fair knowledge in how warforged mechanics work for a great ice-breaker(Repair), a basic understanding of how to ease others tempers(Diplomacy), and finally you hold a keen insight into the meaning behind the words of of your fellow man(Search). With these in-game tools supporting your roleplaying ability you will surely strike up conversations quickly with fellow roleplayers.

Over time other players will naturally see how they too can join in the fun and adventure that awaits in their local taverns! Be a pioneer, start a conversationalist today!
I think I have grouped with this build before. LOL

Shameless bump of my crowning achievement in DDO.

I think with the new PREs and with the upcoming expansion...we can really make some unique builds to further push the envelope of piking.

Also with the difficulty of the game ramping up lately...such as the Abbot and LoB and etc...it seems the Devs need to start gearing quests based on builds from this thread. Instead of making things with the idea that everyone is rolling around with 6-12 past lives for effectiveness.

Sooooo, lets give the DEVs some ideas of what to balance off of.

    My new challenge...

How many PREs can you get into a build?

Also, what is the LOWEST possible HP you can make at level 20?

Questions like these need to be answered.

    The InnKeeper, 28 pt human

    str 10
    dex 8
    con 14
    int 13
    wis 13
    cha 16

Spellsinger 13 - bard symbol gives you permission to pike
Rogue 6 - acrobat, carrying a walking stick makes you seem wise and venerated.
barbarian 1 - 10% run speed helps get in and out of trouble

play some underpowered songs, do some underwhelming dps, disable a few traps that you could otherwise jump/bypass. if there is a real rogue, barb, caster, or melee in the group you're a complete waste of a slot.

    Love the name too lol.

    I approve.

Seen a ton of these "I can do everything (but really sub-optimally)" builds. This sums them up nicely.
