Monk n00b needs some tips

Looking to spend one of my reincarnates as a monk. Will be wf'd for sure. Outside of that looking for a fun build (pure monk though).

34 pt build. +2's in any stat is fine. Wont be farming any rediculous gear except maybe devout handwraps (shadow crypt I think) and have one ring from tower to craft on (holy burst?)

I have a few sets of handwraps, nothing too special, but would like to go unarmed. I will want tier IV of wind stance for attack speed. I prefer a str based build as Im not giong to farm a ton of ac gear. I do have dodge thee on my dt docent already. I will be looking to do dps mostly with decent survivability but no need for super untouchable ac.

Any thoughts from the monk monk experts (who are the monk experts anywho?)

Looking to spend one of my reincarnates as a monk.

How long do you expect to have said character stay as a monk? If, for instance, you are just reincarnating out of it the moment you hit level 20 then things like Holy Burst on rings with Incredible Potential and being a pure monk for things like Perfect Self won't matter, and thus may change the advice you are given.

My currently level 12 monk is based on this build pretty closely. He was a ranger in a past life, and I took the barkskin feat cause I wanna.

As of right now, being wisdom based is a lot of fun, and really helps with the DCs of my special attacks, but I may end up doing a lesser and giving him more STR. He is currently wearing a +6 item and is at 20 str.

Here is his myDDO page. Yes. He sucks. I know. I'm a noob still wearing crappy ****. Next level I start getting my raid gear, and I am excited! PLEASE DON'T JUDGE ME AND EXCLUDE ME FROM YOUR RAIDS!! (We all know how you are, Quik )

I use this build also, with a lot of success. You can get by with lowering int and increasing another stat of your choice, as CE isn't really needed. I subbed in SF:UMD. Skills I use are Concentration, UMB maxed and some balance, jump in for good measure. Other builds may get posted, but this one is used by a lot of people and has been successful for some time.

Cmon now, i rarely exlude anyone. Someone commented in guild chat the other day that Im hard on newbs. My response was, I take more newbs through quests and raids then anyone else in the guild. The response was, "Well, yeah you do"

I figure that gives me the right to let them know when the suck and how to unsuck (stole that from someone, but I like it and its mine )

Not saying your a newb, but the point was I dont exclude anyone because of their play so long as they A. listen and learn when necessary, and B arnt pricks.
