Each sessions I have to delete user pref file

Each time I play, or if it loses connection and I have to re-launch I have to delte my pref's. Then I have to skip the into movie, and reset gameplay options. Is this just how it will be from now on, or is there a fix, or a work-around? It is getting a bit tiresome. I have had this issue for almost a year it seems. Some advice would be helpful, please.

The game just fails to launch,which is why I didn't play for like 6-8 months. But now that I have the netbook, I thought I would try it out. And since it's one of the few games I can play w/o having a cd-rom. I really miss SimCity 3000!!

It sounds like some setting being configured while playing is causing the game to be unable to launch after you exit and reopen, are you making any settings changes when you get in?

If not does the in-game screen resolution (Options > Graphics) match what Windows uses?

It's a netbook so its not really a supported system but most likely there's a setting that its getting hung up on when it launches.

One thing if you exit the game in "windowed mode" (alt & enter keys) does the game relaunch in windowed mode correctly?

Using my Dell Box on a landline. For a while I simply couldn't figure out how to get in. So I gave up. That was nearly a year ago, I was finally able to get back in right before I moved. Now, while here I have not had the Dell, and was using a new netbook. I will PM the DX, and the only settings I change in game, are volumes(footfalls are still to loud, esp. on concrete and wood), and mouse look sensitivity. The screen res I will also have to check on. It does resize my desktop after every session(I have to re-arrange my desktop icons every time).
Then someone mentioned in a thread were I was whining about not being able to get in, deleting the pref.'s file, and it worked. I kept using that so I could play some.

I hope the partial was enough to help. I can send the entire thing again if need be, or if some one thinks it may help. I mentioned that it runs well though, almost as smooth as the dell box. The graphics are not bad either, even all the way down. Normally I don't out of my way to adjust them when I play(right now).
The screen resolutions do differ. The one in game is 1024x768(there is no lower option, confirming your point about this not being supported), and mine(desktop) is like you mentioned 1024x576.
So there is possibly some conflict there. But, only for this system. I said previously that this began well before ever having this netbook. It has some thing to do with my account, somehow.
I had tried on dell box, in the past, to re-dl the launcher but it never helped. For about 4-5 months I did not even try and log in. I thought since I had a clean system to start with, this time, it would work better for me. But, the problem followed me. The only other thing on this netbook is I created a second user just for seeing if ddo would launch right(after attempting on the original user profile). And still it didn't work right. So, when someone told me to try deleting the user pref's and it worked I have just kept doing it, so I could play. But I was hoping that some minor investigating could be done. As to ascertain why it seems it only be happening to me(mostly).
And I have never tried to press the alt&enter keys, I didn't know about that function. It simply changes modes?

After re-downloading the client about a month ago, I continue to have to delete the pref's file.

Can anyone tell me if I am possibly violating some 'rule' of playing the same account on two different computers?

Circumstance prevents me from using my desktop system, I got grounded from the internet by my new room-mate, 'cause I asked him to replace a garbage bag, while I took out the trash. Seems I disrespected him, so he took away the TV cable and the serial cable for the computer, and the internet service I had paid for. I think I will opt to return to homelessness for now. I am forced to play on a netbook I bought after moving here. Just having to erase that file everytime is getting tedious.
