Default Where the heck are Gwylan cylinders??

I just spent over an hour running around Gwylan's Stand. Prepared for days buying up various slaying and bane arrows, and it paid off -- I managed to defeat every opponent. Problem is, I never found the **** cylinders! Eventually admitted defeat and left without completing the quest.

they're in a cave just to the right of the very beginning of the quest - explore just past the res shrine... (BTW you need 8 cylinders.)

In future if you get lost in doing a quest check out some of the forum posts here to help you out. The link below is a walkthrough for most quests in the game so I would only suggest using it if you are ridiculously stuck like you were in Gwylans.

That actually occurred to me last night -- after I logged off DDO, posted OP, and turned off the computer -- "What IS that cave I never bothered to check?" Darn.

BTW, I put at least 10 arrows of monstrous humanoid slaying into Zared Mightyhoof, and he did not die. In the end it was just accumulated damage that got him. His Fortitude must be so high as to shrug off most death effects. If I do Gwylan's Stand again, I will save holy or greater bane arrows for Mightyhoof, and use slaying ones on regular minotaurs.

    Red face Supply crates?

I can't seem to empty these cylinders into any supply crates... Where the heck are those?

Right, never mind! Let's calk this down to "being way to cautious in the middle of an adventure" and pretend I never asked the question, right?

Officially more than half of all the characters I have ever run had death #1 at the hands of Zared Mightyhoof. I kind of like that about him.

    He enhances humility.

I love all the traps in this quest. Make it fun to use them against the mobs. I think that was how I killed Mightyhoof. Of course like the OP I too couldn't find them Cylinders and gave up after awhile. Good to know where to look now.

Oh, moo! Finally I ran Gwylan's Stand with a party, on hard. On hard Zared is CR 14. And:

+5 Frost Bow, plus Holy arrows, plus multishot, plus Imbue force arrows, plus Ranger skill boost => I killed Zared before he managed to reach me.

Then the rest of the party had to save me from certain death at the hands of his flunkies

IIRC, those containers are fairly heavy too. When I ran it solo and had to carry all 8 my toon was burdened and, thus, slowed. Just fyi. It's the only time in the entire game (though admittedly I haven't run every quest yet) I've had enough weight in my pack to slow me down. Not that big a deal but thought you might like to know.

Yeah, if you're a character with STR as a dumpstat (caster, DEX build, etc.) you might have to take a couple trips or just deal with running reeeeaaaaaalllllyyyyy slow

I think they weight about 20 lbs each, IIRC. Maybe more.
