Thanks for looking over it. (+1)

Looking back at it I think I'll save the splash until level 13 so I get acrobat and tempest quicker. It will also give me longer to decide whcih splash I want as with Human and Fighter I've more feats and enhacements than I know what to do with

    Default Questions about your build

I liked this build very much, I think Im going to play it soon, but I have some questions to do (most them because Im still learning the build-basics)

-Why UMD? As ranger, u have access to healing items, even without the WIS requeriments. Is really needed UMD in that build?

-Imagine that I really (really) hate kopeshes (yeah I know they are a great 1handed weapon, but just imagine...) what weapon will be better, scimitar or rapier (choice for the Improved Critical feat)

-Perhaps the most important question (for me): What about rogue prestiges? Which one you would choose? Assassin for more SA? Acrobat for extra speed/dodging? Mechanic for extra skills?

Thx for your answers, and for helping a noob builder

    1.) UMD.
UMD is the video-game gods gift to rogues. UMD is BY-FAR the best skill in the game. My 20th level rogue can use any item in the game, even if it has a race or class requirement on it. In addition, I can use arcane and divine scrolls. My rogue can cast:
    1. Teleport
    2. mass heal
    3. greater restoration
    4. raise dead
    5. break enchantment
    6. fireshield
    7. dimension door
    8. greater heroism

    and much much more

    UMD is amazing!

    2.) Khopeshes.
If you don't like khopeshes, that's fine. They do the most damage out of any one-handed weapon, but other weapons could work.

I would recommend using Rapiers if you really didn't like khopesh.
Scimitars and Rapiers have the same stats, however if you ever wanted to LR or TR into a Dex-based character, your rapiers would still work well. In addition, Imp Crit pierce helps out your punct based weapons such as:
    1. banishing
    2. puncturing

    3.) Prestige
Right now, Assassin is the best Prestige. Extra Sneak attack damage, and Assassin II fun against low-fort monsters. However, with the new prestige updates coming next mod, either of the 3 prestige classes could be fun.

Some people will take acrobat for knock-down immunity, and some will take mechanic for the trap skills... though we have yet to learn how practical they might be.

Currently however, my Krythen just dropped Assassin II in favor for Heroes companion, just to try it out. Assassin II is fairly expensive if you just want it for the damage.

2.) Fighter would be a good choice for someone that doesn't want to buy monk. There is no reason a player could choose fighter instead of monk. If the player plans on making Min II's, I would be tempted to drop Imp Crit, and take 1 level of Barbarian instead (remember to start non-lawful)

3.) Heroic companion is fun. That would work!

4.) Skill Boost - great for UMD, and really useful if you don't have all your rogue-gear.
ok omg . can someone now post again how to make this ? my head hurts also tring to follow something then read down more to only find out i should of changed something or added something other than the first idea . :-(

    SKILLS
The skills for this build are a little complicated. However, if you follow the exact progression closely, you will have MAX ROGUE skills, despite starting with 8 INT, and only being 13 levels of Rogue.

This is accomplished by alternating ranger and rogue levels in the beginning. This maximizes the most amount of skills for your invested skill points. Below I will post the character planner export... follow those plans EXACT.

    ENHANCEMENTS LEVEL 20:

In the post you were quoting, I felt obligated to recognize the possible variations of this build.

Some people have different suggestions. What I suggest is the original build I posted.

    Mini-guide just for you:
    • Do you have access to monk: Go 13 rogue / 6 ranger / 1 monk
    • Don't own monk: Go 13 rogue / 6 ranger / 1 fighter
    • Know you'll make MinII's: Go 13 rogue / 6 ranger / 1 barbarian
    • Feeling overwhelmed (which is 100% understandable): Follow my pure rogue build

    Exclamation

if you gonna do 13 rogue/6 ranger/ 1 other class than you should think of:

    1. get Acrobat 2 for this build its way much beter the any other rogue prestige, why - you get movement speed bonus, immunity to knockdown and fom (thats big benefit) also skill to activate "showtime" gets you some boosts that are good for this build.
Mechanic is crapy anyway you only get boosts for skills, and Assassin 2 is not really worth it, people think "assassinate skill" is good but it has cooldown, you usuly get to kill one or two mobs with it and you need inteligence for it, and SA is not that much of a big deal also

    2. STATS
-if you have 32 point build go with human (you have free feat, and healing amp, along with possibility to get +1 to two different stats
    numbers would be:
    18
    15
    12
    12
    8
    8
why: you want max str for damage and hit bonuse, 15 dex is enough since you get TWF and ITWF from ranger, and by the time you get to levle to pick GTWF you can get +2 dex tome, and 19 dex with items and buffs also gets you enough reflex save and since youll have improved evasion thats very good
con 12 is enough for HP since oyu have alot of boosts later in game to gain alot of HP, even with con 12 you can get to 400 HP thats enough for this kind of a build
12 int is for skills, with it you can get nice skill, max you trap skills, hide and move silently, and once you get Acrobat 2 you can ignore balance and tumble

    3. Items and feats
for items, if you dont wanna spend feat in khopesh or for some reason you cant, you can use scimitars since you have ranger class, scimitars are lil less better then khopeshes but still can rock reall good
for feats you need to think ahead what you want, if you plan on using acrobat 2 and tempest 1 you need alot of feats for tempest 1 that gives you some benefits for TWF

for use of UMD on items, well since your ranger you can use healing wands for free, so UMD for scorls like teleport and so on, there are some items that grants you spells like greater heroism (planar gird), haste and rage, look that up on ddo wiki and forums

    4. for those who dont have 32 point build
    - use drow, you can unlock him with 400 favor
    stats:
    17
    16
    12
    12
    8
    10

you can get +1 books for str and dex easy, and later +2 str book

    - if you dont have a drow and you want this to be your first toon (since first toon gets turbine bonus for favor) and you want to max that use human with this stats:
    16
    16
    12
    12
    8
    8

once again you can use +1 dex tome to get it to 17 for GTWF and later tomes for other stats, str and con mostly

there are some more things to think about but try to figue out them by yourselfe

P.S. sorry for spelling errors didnt had to much time to writhe this

    Default Starting CON

With the buffs coming to raid bosses in update 11 and for many other reasons Id really recommend anyone considering this build to go with the OP stat break down with the higher CON. Zeus' build idea would isn't bad but you really really want to have more HP. Especially since no points have been spent in Diplomacy or Bluff to shed unwanted aggro. But even spending skill points in the social skills you STILL will love the survibability that a higher starting CON brings. Almost every post on the forums recommends at least a 14 Starting CON. "AT LEAST" being key here you really should put as much into CON as you can. There are lots of ways to increase your "to hit" and damage in the game. But...the list of HP inreasing sources is pretty static and consistent.

that is true. i forgot about update 11, and how its gonna mess some things up. so i would also recomend con 14, so you can lower str for point or two and int also to 10 if you dont want all skills you can get, to get con to 14.

Con 12 is chalange for TR's and players who have gear in advance but it still can be enough now, befor big changes.

a year ago this build would be very good in solo even on later quest you get, but as new updates comeing to game its obvious ddo is trying to remove options for solo toons lil by lil. (for insatnce over updates: book usage levles, ranger tempest, wizards extended on some spells and so on) this is just my thought, i might be wrong but just an opinion

Way back when, right after the level cap was raised to 20, and before kensei/frenzy, this guy used to be top DPS. Not anymore.

Recent updates haven't been very nice to this guy. I built him back when Tempest gave 10% attack speed. Since then Pure rogues have gotten Assassin III, and the capstone (4d6 sneak damage).

Basically, if you're going for DPS - do a pure rogue.... so Krythen is left as a sort of "versatile" unique build.

In responce to zeus0407, good ideas, but here is where I disagree:
    1. Reasoning for Assassin II is the extra sneak attack damage. Immunity to knockdown is kinda meh end-game, but DPS is king.
    2. Don't do drow (ever). Human is good for soloing (extra hp, higher STR). However Halfling is going to give +8 sneak damage. One again - it's about the DPS.

Though, feel free to ignore me. Feel free to do whatever you want with this build - tweak it, adjust it - make the character that you want to play. I can only suggest what I think.
