Trading...best way?

What's the best/established/acceptable way to trade items that are posted in Argo trade forums?

Arrange a meeting in-game?
Mail the items/plat?

(Cue people saying that YES! I should mail them plat!)

if its someone I know, then I have no problem mailing plat or the item, if not I meet them somewhere.

If you know or trust them mail is fine I have done mail trades with many across several servers otherwise arrrange a meeting.

I would meet and trade face to virtual face. This prevents any possible error or unfortunate situations (item "lost in mail").

Never had a problem trading via mail even with people who I argue with on the fourms

I prefer meeting in game to trade via trade window, but I have never had any problems with mail trading with those who just don't have the same schedule I do.

I am confident this holds true for the vast majority of people and this is a matter of pride for our community.

However, when I was a Noob on Mabar I had a bad run in with somebody who took advantage of me. Had it only been me then perhaps it would have been left at that but Mabar was a small server and he repeated this with enough other people that word got arpund and he shamed off the server. (He is back in game btw, or at least I've seen him make attempts over the past year).

With all the New Players it is just simply my opinion that any effort we can make in reducing the possibility of chance and error is good. You don't even need to take an attitude that you're untrusting - things can really glitch in this game and an honest person could be made to look bad with such "Mail Glitches."

These are good ideas but why stop there? Maybe it would be wise to also get a Social Security Number, Place of Birth, Mother's Maiden Name, some references and do a background check as well, just to be sure?*

I only trade by mail with guildies or people I'm very sure wouldn't pull some shenanigans. Everyone else meet at any place, invite to party, write down the trade in the party window. Take screenshot of it. Open trade window. Take screenshot. Open inventory and look for item. Hover over item to get tooltip, screenshot.

Also, as someone with 2.5yrs in the game, I do my best to help newbies not getting robbed by the very few vets who would pull that kind of low-life trickery (like offering a noob 20K gold for a planar gird they just pulled).

The best way to accomplish a trade is to mail the item and a description of what you want for it to Blahish... 2 days later it will magically appear in your in box - true story
