Even worse, I tried to order a Fosters Oil Can in Cairns. Nothing screams tourists more than doing that.

I did drink a VB (they make that) and it was liking drinking Miller (mass market).

I ended up getting a little respect back by saying I am used to drinking an import: a Sam Adams Winter Lager.

Yea, I know how that feels... my first toon, Cruorin, started my title in-game as Cru (pronounced Crew) and now I'm starting to get random tells asking me if I'm Cruxxxx or what-have-you and being told I'm a noob. They destroy me 'Cept for this cleric I met with a name that started with Cru... Can't recall his name, but he was rather good.
