Default Price Check - +5 Vorpal Dwarven Axe

    As the title says.

Looking for a value on this. A plain +5 Vorpal Dwarven Axe ML 16.

    Thanks.

Low compared to any other vorpal dwarven axe since the +5 modifier bumps the ML 6 levels.

So I'd put it around face value (maybe a little more), but it'll take several rounds on teh AH to sell. I usually vendor vorpal weapons above ML 14.

Since it's useful at end game, Vorpal actually gets better the higher the min lvl, especially since vorpal isn't super useful before lvl 16 anyway. The +5 makes sure that you'll always confirm when you roll a 20, so your axe isn't bad. I personally prefer that my Vorpals be PG to get through the DR of certain devils and increase their DPS, but your Axe is certainly worth more than base value. I'd be willing to pay 2-3 times base value for it and it's possible you could get more.

I would agree with this assessment. If that vorpal were silver or pure good to penetrate DR, it would be worth quite a lot.
Devs: Thanks for making Druids available to VIPs without the pack. This more than anything, has made me want to buy the pack.

2-3x base value doesn't equate to the 10x base value of the ML8 RR's though. As a ML16 base value's probably going to be between 98-160k gp right?

Vorpals are indeed more valuable the higher the modifier is. This is because a vorpal is still useable at level 16+, so people want the highest modifier because it's better.

This is unlike disruptors/paralyzers (which stop being useful just a few levels after they become available), and to a lesser extent smiters/banishers.

No save = higher modifier is good.

On another topic, talking about base value is useless. Just say what it's worth; the value of items is completely disconnected from the base value 99% of the time.

I have no experience with dwarven axes, but I'd say at least 500K pp.

heh. Good to see some opinions.

Anyway, I'm not a greedy person so i sold it for the first offer i got ingame which was 250k pp.

Not too bad for something i got for practically nothing. (Ultimate aura egg run, no blessing).

    Thanks for your replies.

A min lvl 10 vorpal, specially finessable, is worth quite a bit. But a high + vorpal that can also penetrate DR on a dps weapon (d-axes and khopesh, f.ex) can be worth more if the + is high enough. Wouldn't be surprised to see it go for no less than 500k, and I'm sure there are buyers that would more.

So strange, every time I put vorpals on the AH for a reasonable price (start at 25k plat) they never sell.

"The more you know," I suppose.

There's a large drop off between good vorpals and ok vorpals, like a lot of things. Also a big drop between the 'good' weapon types like scimitar/kopesh and something like a battleaxe.

I would give you 50k plat for the +5 Vorpal Dwarven Axe. If your looking to sell not just price-check, and you think that is fair shoot me a PM or something.
