    Default Wizard Build Help

    I am currently Lvl 16 and am going to use a lesser heart of wood in order to redo skills and abilities. Here is the re-build of my character. I need some input on what needs to be changed. I plan on focusing on fire & ice spells since they damage mostly everything in the game. This is a 32-point build btw.

    The Improved Mental Toughness and Mental Toughness feats are kinda meh, but if you really feel you need them whatever. On the other hand... DITCH ENERGY OF THE SCHOLAR. Replace the points you spent on that with Improved Heighten I & II. And just leave Heighten on and reap the benefits.

    Scholar 4 is 110 SP... Heighten II is 21 SP saved per heightened web once you have capstone. Granted that is one of the bigger savings, but over the course of a quest the improved heighten enhancements will save you HUNDREDS of spell points, this is even more magnified if you get things like the Bauble and Epic Spell Storing Ring. Hundreds of SP in savings per shrine versus 110 SP (2 9th level spell casts) worth of extra spell casting.

    And personally I'd totally leave dex and wis at 8... maybe even charisma too and put those extra points into STR. Having that extra STR to keep you from getting incapped from stuff like rune of weakness is good stuff. Not to mention it helps your ability to haul all that heavy loot you should be pulling out of chests when soloing without getting seriously slowed down once somebody smacks you with a ray of enfeeblement. Slow move speed because you had crappy STR and just had it get drained while carrying lots of loot = WHOOPS! *splat*

    What about if I am wearing a +6 STR item. 16 STR still too low for higher end game. My current character has 16 STR (before the tome) and I never have had any trouble with being enfeebled.

    The Heal skill is pretty worthless.

    Maybe I missed it, but I saw Greater Spell Focus, but not Spell Focus.

    I think taking Toughness twice is kind of a waste. If you're vying for UMD, which it appears you are, take Skill Focus.

    Leave Dex at 8. That shouldn't even be a consideration, as the only things you'd use Dex for are some of your skills, and the extra point won't much matter. Wis you could leave at 8 or bump. More matter of preference than anything else.

    Bumping Str a little is nice for early game to avoid becoming helpless from a RoE, but later on it's less of an issue, especially if, as you say, you have a +6 Str item on all the time. That said, you may end up without somewhere to keep that Str as you acquire more raid loot and such. I'd prob push it to 10.

    Another possibility with the stats is to just go 18/18 Con/Int.

    Alright, re-worked it a bit. I am now lvl 20 on this character and will be quite some time before I do a TR. I am wanting to focus on Fire & Ice spells and Necromancy for help with shroud runs. UMD is also a big thing for me as well. I mainly re-worked my skill points and some feats. I don't like having low HP so that the reasoning behind taking toughness. I mainly want to make sure that I get my skills and stats right since I can't change them without doing another Lesser Reincarnate

    Please let me know what you think I should change or keep.
