    Default Halfling Ranger 18/Monk 1/Rogue 1

So Ive just unlocked Monk, Id like to make a high AC meleeist. Is this a viable combination? Im 28 pt only, so Im thinking

    Str 12 +1 level +6 item
    Dex 18 +4 level +5 enhancements +6 item
    Con 12 +6 item
    Int 8 +6 item???
    Wis 15 +6 item
    Cha 8

    Feats

Power Attack (when STR is 13, could get it later and use a tome instead, switch the lvl pt to Wis)
    Dodge
    Mobility
    Spring Attack
Imp Crit Slashing (IIRC I keep the Wis to AC even with non-monk weapons??)
    TWD-every bit of AC helps??
    O***
    Toughness??

Rogue 1 for traps, sneak attack improved with halfling enhancements and whatever items I find, and using deception/bluff? (currently got a deception dagger)

Skills, Id do OL DD Seach Spot and Balance and sack the rest, or maybe UMD.Is it viable to do it like that? Obviously all the kit I might one day gather could be added (greensteel/DT exceptionals, tomes etc) but Im starting this thing from scratch and I dont tend to power level very often so... yea.

Would that be a good setup to start off with, or am I missing something? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Random thoughts: Halfling probably isn't the best choice for this build, unless you expect to do a lot of flanking. You're going to want either higher STR or Weapon Finesse. I don't see a need for base WIS 15 especially on a 28-pt char; 12 or 14 is enough to start with. Bump CON to at least 14. Max UMD all the way. I think you'll need higher INT. TWD isn't worth it; personally I think Stunning Blow is much more useful. Yes, you keep your monk WIS AC boost when using non-monk weapons (though you can't use monk stances); you just can't wear armor.

Seems you are going for Dex instead of Str. Then you would need Weapon Finesse and to use Finessable weapons only (light ones or rapier). If you use Str weapons with such a low Str, and Power Attack, you will miss alot.

    12 16 14 12 14 8

    Feats
    Least dragon mark healing
    Weapon finesse
    Lesser mark healing
    Greater mark healing
    Dodge (monk bonus sometime)
    Ic pierce
    Mobility
    Spring attack

No fail heal scrolls at level 9, pushes tempest back to level 18. Fight sword and board till level six, then rapier and short sword.

Tough build without all the goodies and 32 of +

Get a silver bow as well. Level ups into dex.

With an Int of 8 you are going to have a lot of trouble keeping your skills up I would guess. You may want to consider dropping your wisdom by one to up your Int a few points.

Great advice guys, thanks a lot. 28 point liimits multiclassing, I might just power out favor runs to buy it and then these kind of builds get easier.

    Cheers!
